Is this guy kidding. If legislative language is so complicated, WHO reads it??? How do you follow it???

New flash — I read legislative language for 32 years. It isn’t that hard. It’s just time consuming and stupid.

You have an obligation to write it in plain language. The credit card disclosure is a good example you nit wit. You should be following your own effing rules.

  • Jarhead68

He does have a point. Legal language is horrific to read and digest. It’s done that way for a purpose. So those of us without law degrees will be dependent on lawyers to interpret for us. What he’s saying is that he trusts the lawyers who are crafting the legislative language. Why should Republicans trust democRat lawyers and vice-versa? Why can’t we use “plain English” to write legislation? I guess we could “kill all the lawyers”, as Shakespeare so aptly put it. :gun: :gun: :gun:

John Conyers said, gave among other reasons that he wouldn’t read the bill cos he’d need an Lawyer with him to interpret the legalese.

    CONYERS’ IS A LAWYER!!!

He’s also 80 y.o., but if he can’t handle the workload he needs to retire along with Tom Carper.

Limiting members of Congress to 2 terms in each House of Congress is starting to look better & better.

After all POTUS is limited to two terms, so in the name of fairness & equality term limit Congress.

Perhaps just the noise of a Term Limits proposal from the public would be enough for them to abandon their Radical-Left agenda just for the sake of their own political survival.

if it is that fucking hard then stop using it you stupid fucking cocksucker!

that kid should have beat him with the microphone.

  • shelly

I may be wrong. the impression I got from this guy was, he is slamming the people who write this shit.

    • mike3481

In that case then, they would be people who work for him.

no, he is hiding what is really in that bill that has yet to REALLY be written…it is an open ended check for the leftist commies just as the stimushit was…and as you can see it did not help the economy or jobs in America not one bit. KEEP BENDING OVER America and spelling R U N three times fast or stop these pukes in their tracks with anything they come up with! That is the ONLY way.

Legislative language is used for the express purpose to keep what’s in a bill so confusing that no one can figure it out and can “interpret” it this or that way. Today’s show is brought to you by the letters “G” for the word “Gibberish” and “O” for the word “Oblique”.
    This Congress defies comprehension.

  • Bobby E

If it can’t be read, digested, and interpreted, then it needs to be trashed.

its nice, he wont do his job and read. who voted this ahole in :?:

THE perfect follow-up question is then….if the politicians who are supposedly writing this don’t read it and understand it…..then who will? Decades worth of Federal REGULATORS, LAWYERS, and Lefty JUDGES…that’s who! The “plain language” version he keeps talking about…is by definition someone’s own interpretation of what the “legislative” language actually says…is this person objective and unbiased…or just another lefty political hack trying to jam it down our throats! Yes it is difficult to read and follow…SO WHAT…it’s YOUR JOB! DO IT!
