Even if johnny's rants seem to not make much sense or to contradict itself entirely, his aim is always the same, to display a sense of independence, of not being easily manipulated or not being restrained by someone elses boundaries. Being concerned about hiself and nothing else. In a sense johnny rotten is one of the true hobbesian individuals, much like the nuge.
