Apparently by the same laws that the Founders required farmers to use a certain percentage of their farms for hemp production.

http://www.leap.cc/cms/index.php < This is a website of dedicated, informed officers of the law, nationwide, who believe that the War on Drugs is 1. A gargantuan waste of hard earned taxed dollars, and 2. a violation of an individuals right to control their bodies, and a false control over peoples choices.

Smoking pot hasn't killed anyone. ever. The libertarian in me says, fuck the law, fire one up.

My main concern is that people give credence to laws that are illegal by their own very nature.
By what constitutional authority did they derive the ability to regulate a plant?

Hemp was effectively outlawed by the oil companies because it is truly a renewable source for petroleum type products. Industrial hemp will do nothing more than give you a headache if you smoke it.

I have several articles of clothing, mostly for outdoor use, that´s made of hemp. I´m very happy with the quality of the cloth and workmanship.
.
Smoking marijuana? Personally, I don´t give a fuck. Seems to me if you can legally go to the store and buy bottles of liquid - which I do - that turns your liver into a brick, why all the fuss?
.
Legalize it. Show you´re 21. Tax it. Easy Peasy.
.
Your opinion and mileage may vary.
