Also, he can argue that it's too late this year to add troops for combat since the "brutal Afghan winters" are just about upon us and the troops won't be needed until spring. This sort of crap is calculated by Obama and his image handlers. When it comes to events within the Obama administration, there are no coincidences. He wants that Nobel Peace Prize for himself, which noone cantake from him even if hed is a one-term president.
