White House Attacks On Glenn Beck Have “Tremendously” Increased His Ratings – With Video

Glenn Beck Day

Agencie France Presse:

News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch said on Friday that White House criticism of commentators on his Fox News television channel had served to “tremendously” increase their ratings.

“There were some strong remarks coming out of the White House about one or two of the commentators on Fox News,” Murdoch told the annual meeting of News Corp. shareholders here.

“And all I can tell you is that it’s tremendously increased their ratings,” he said.

Murdoch’s remarks came after White House Communications Director Anita Dunn told The New York Times earlier this week that Fox News was “undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House.”

Murdoch also restated his plans to begin charging readers of News Corp. newspapers on the Web. Currently, only the Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal charges subscribers online.

“We intend to charge for our content on the Web,” Murdoch said. “As I’ve said many times in the past good journalism comes at a price.

“In the future successful newspapers will charge for their content and aggregators will largely be excluded,” he said.

The News Corp. chairman was also asked about the attitude of the Obama administration towards business.

“We’re worried about the business climate and whether it will discourage the formation of new companies,” he said.

“There is a public perception, certainly, that this government is anti-business,” he said. “I’m not saying it’s a correct perception but there is a perception and I think this perception is hurting the economy.

“We think the outlook for the economy is probably pretty steady,” he added. “My own view… is that we’re not going to get another vast steep decline but nor are we going to get any steep increase.”

Becks ratings are up because people want the truth.98% of the media can’t speak the truth into the mic because they can’t pry obama’s dick out of their mouths.

Murdoch stands up for the rights of Fox’s commentators to speak their opinion. Without that backing, Americans would be forced to watch the left-leaning “fringe” media spew their lies and distorted views. I appreciate Murdoch’s willingness to stand by Glenn Beck while he bravely exposes the truth about the government.

I saw this article on it’s original site, and can you guess what the leftys were crying about? Murdoch stated he would start charging for online content. Again with the whiners who don’t want to pay for services offered by another. These same people want free healthcare, want free song downloads, want free free free….Never thinking that a service, and a valuable one at that, deserves some compensation for offering said service. They also said historically, charging for online content doesn’t work. Well, look at PJTV. $5/mo, and they’re doing very well.

I’ll give some kudos to FOX though I prefer to get my information from a variety of radio and internet sources. My biggest bone of contention with them is that they are too fair and balanced … they let liberals like Bob Beckel run his mouth there. There is some good in that (though I can’t stomach it), but my disagreement is because a conservative wouldn’t get ‘fair’ air time on a liberal network, so why should they not be shut out completely? I know, I know … we’re not like that; we’re fair and want to show that we are, but who ‘gets that’ except for us? Even O’Hannity and Rush irk me a little by taking advertising from GM – Obama Motors – but they have to have advertising and it is a nice little ‘stick in the eye’ of Obama that his government-owned company would advertise with his adversaries. But, as this pertains to Beck, I do have one difference of opinion with him that has nothing to do with his ratings. For the ratings topic at hand, I’ll echo what Jackie and unkaglen have posted.
