Good for them, I hate it when places charge ridiculous “gratuity” of 18-25%. Just jack up the price of your items even more and pay the workers a real wage, or allow people to decide for themselves how the service was and TIP accordingly. It’s not a tip if its mandatory!

If I know about a “mandatory gratuity”, I just won’t spend my hard earned money in that establishment….And I’ll tell them why.
If it was me that got arrested for not paying a gratuity, mandatory or otherwise, I will have my day in court, my lawyer will make money, their lawyer will make money, and they will sacrifice far more in the long run than the gratuity. They will also bear the shit from bad press.
IMO, businesses that inact rules like that are more than likely circling the drain anyway and are simply not paying their hired help properly.

Having worked in the food service industry in my past, when I don’t pay a tip, it means service was really really outstandingly bad. I am not just displeased, I am making a loud statement that the service SUCKS.
No, it’s not that I’m a selfish tightewad scrooge, or really picky, because I am more than lenient, understanding and patient. It’s that YOU REAllY SUCK, and MOST OF IT’S YOUR ATTITUDE.
Sadly, even with the economy going down the tubes, and work getting harder and harder for people to find, I am finding myself tipping less and less and having more excuses to not give my business to more and more establishments. What the fuck is wrong with these people??? Do they or do they NOT WANT OUR BUSINESS???
