General Petraeus turned Mosul around using the same COIN strategy that would later be implemented during the Surge. A surge and a strategy that Casey did NOT support and fough against.

But no sooner had the act been committed, had death and destruction been visited upon our land at the hands of our enemies – then the stench of appeasement filled the air.

To call this act what it is and to identify its motivation honestly instead of attributing it to ‘PTSD’ is NOT to impugn the entire religion of Islam, or all Muslims.
