It is a sad day when I look at Senator Lieberman, Al Gore’s VP pick from 2000, as a voice of reason in the Senate, even if only on a handful of issues.
Do I think Liebs can be counted on to fight jihadists?
Yeah OK.
Do I trust him to stand firm on the nationalizing of health care when his only concern is budgetary and not the fact it’s not Constitutional and it criminalizes non-participation?
Not so much.
He owes the democrats nothing. They voted him out of office. I believe that he will vote againt the senate version and will filibuster with Republicans. Besides, he didn’t think that he and Gore would be elected because he ran for his Senate seat at the same time as running for vp.
The cheapest words spoken today are coming out of D.C..
Like all of them he will go where there is the biggest payoff.
