Sarah Palin To Visit Ft. Hood

Grieving soldiers and families at Fort Hood, Texas, will get a visit from Sarah Palin next month as part of her national book tour, her publisher told Washington Wire.

The former vice presidential candidate, whose book “Going Rogue,” will be released on Tuesday, had already agreed to visit the Army base, according to her publicist. She said that after last week’s shooting that left 13 people dead and 30 wounded, an official on the base contacted HarperCollins to say that Palin should stick with the planned appearance.

The Dec. 4 event had not been announced publicly or included in a preliminary list of tour stops published on Palin’s Facebook page.

The Fort Hood stop will coincide with a visit to Dallas as part of a tour designed to take Palin to parts of the country where she is most popular. There are no scheduled stops in New York City or Los Angeles, for example, but she will sign books in places like Noblesville, Ind., and Roanoke, Va.

One other military base, Fort Bragg, N.C., is on the schedule for later this month.

    This is disgusting really. She is visiting Ft. Hood as part of her book tour? Was she going there anyways or did she just add this stop because of what happened. So she is going to use this to try and sell her book?

    I have no problem if she is going there to provide comforting words but if she uses this as some shameless book plug or some grandstanding tactic against democrats then she is shameless and just a bad person in my book.

    Joe, why over analyze why Sarah is going to Ft. Hood? I suppose if she was not on a book tour and went it would be for political purposes.

    Yes, it was planned before the attack and the Post specifically asked her not to cancel.

    I did read the article. The way it was worded before made it seem like she had just added this to her tour. The original post didn’t have many specifics so I took it for what it was saying. They seem to have added more specifics so that settles that.

    Fort Hood needs to mourn as the family they are.This bitch needs to leave these Soldiers and families alone.If this had happened at Camp Pendleton and I was still stationed there I would cap this bitch before she could even step onto the base.This is a sleazy thing to do on her part.If she wants to help the Soldiers and the families of Fort Hood,she should donate some of her profits from her book to the dead and wounded.Anything else is in badtaste.

    Thank god we have freedom of speech. How else could we differentiate wisdom from stupidity. The article states “an official on the base contacted HarperCollins to say that Palin should stick with the planned appearance.” So she was asked to continue, her already planned stop, to the base. Palin has been pro people of the military before her Veep run with visits to overseas camps not selling anything.

    I think Sara Palin will sincerely express her concerns and sympathies. Anyone who makes eye contact with her sees this. I know I would want to see her over any other stuffed shirt POS politician. I would be insulted if BHO made some plastic appearance for a quick photo op.

    You should change to delta shunt- as in diverting an electrical discharge to ground, an inconsequential spark across a gap of no significance. You forgot to blame Bush.

    I think I would be glad to see her. Being that she has a history of supporting the troups I think it’s appropriate that she is going there.

    There are critics of Sarah Palin but in my opinion she is also a very good politician and she also did some good projects in Alaska.
