Now, perhaps over analyzing here, but the high speed partner left himself completely dry and seemed to fumble around a bit on the reload. Can’t knock the guy too much here, since his nerves after the climax seemed to have grabbed hold at this point. But meanwhile, with eyes over zealously fixated or even mesmerized by the dead punk twitching, neither appeared to gander at the overall situational awareness, never scanning or even glancing the periphery for the presence of other threats.

Mandatory time off without pay for Deputy Doughnut, until he returns to operational conditioning and capable of retaking a refresher course at the academy.

And while I’m on a roll, I may as well come clean. I despise street cops who cruise the streets with their damn windows up, irregardless of the weather but especially when the weather is not severely inclement and resides anywhere between 40-115 degrees. The lazy loafs belong behind a desk or better yet beneath a desk.

My only question is why didn’t he go back to his patrol car and fetch the shotgun, you know … just to be thorough.

Suicide by Cop. He pointed the gun, started shooting while walking towards the Officer to give the Officer a better target, after being shot and going to the ground, he still wouldn’t drop the gun forcing the Officers to continue firing until he was fatally wounded.

The guy was at the end of his rope and wanted it to end. I fear we’re going to see a lot more of this as the economy worsens, as it’s certain to do. It’s become something of a pattern when the the economy goes in the tank and unemployment skyrockets.

15 or so years ago there were a rash of this type of Officer involved shootings in my area, usually the suicidal individual would get drunk, go into to the parking lot of the Bar and start threatening people with a phillips head screwdriver or even an unloaded firearm.

A 911 call would go out, Police would arrive and the guy would threaten to kill the Officers and after convincing the Officers he was nuts, would the come at them like a mad man, forcing the shooting and boom, boom, out go the lights.

Then the dead guys family would scream bloody murder, a ACLU type Lawyer would sue the city for wrongful death because and I quote, “it was only a screwdriver”. Then the city had to hire experts to explain that if you take an 8″ phillips head screwdriver through the liver (very possible) the person wounded has than an hour to get on an operating table before he bleeds-out and dies no matter what first-aid is administered. Pressure on that type of wound doesn’t work well at all. At least that’s what I’ve been told and that’s what the city’s hired experts said.

I wonder if the guy in the video is the “Obama Economy’s” first fatality.
