Sarah Palin To Become FOX News Contributor, Have Own Show

The Washington Post:

Sarah Palin, who regularly rips the media, is becoming a television pundit at a place where she’s likely to feel at home.

A Fox News executive says the network will shortly announce that the former vice-presidential nominee is signing on as a contributor.

Palin, who resigned as governor of Alaska last summer, will appear as a commentator on various Fox shows. She will also host an occasional program that will examine inspirational tales involving ordinary Americans.

Palin will join Mike Huckabee as a Fox contributor who was also involved in the 2008 campaign. The exposure can only help Palin if she decides to pursue a 2012 presidential bid.

At the moment, Palin makes pronouncements mainly through her Facebook page. The Fox connection would give her a platform on the nation’s top-rated cable news channel.

Palin is extremely popular with her conservative base, which has fueled the sales of her best-selling memoir. But she is a divisive political figure who not only draws the ire of liberals but some Republicans, including staffers who deal with her during her run as John McCain’s running mate. Steve Schmidt, a top McCain strategist, said on “60 Minutes” last night that “there were numerous instances that she said things that were — that were not accurate that ultimately, the campaign had to deal with.”

Hiring Palin could further boost the popularity of Rupert Murdoch’s network among conservative viewers. The network already employs former Bush White House aide Karl Rove and former House speaker Newt Gingrich as highly visible commentators.

Open those funny farm gates wide-open people, we have incoming! This will send libtards over the fricken’ edge. Seriously, we are talking #1 and #2 on their “Evil List” merging as one, the only thing that could be worst for them is if Bush or Cheney joined the Fox team.

    • Stacy

I think a Liz and Dick Cheney show would do wonders in pushing these brainless Marxists to the brink.

“Palin will join Mike Huckabee as a Fox contributor who was also involved in the 2008 campaign. The exposure can only help Palin if she decides to pursue a 2012 presidential bid.”

    Um…no.

This particular type of exposure will hurt her in the long run. I hope she enjoys her new job, because if she establishes a professional association with Fox, she’s finished in national politics.

    1. If the elephant is the symbol of the American right wing, FoxNews is their graveyard. Why do you think Huckabee is on Fox? Where else could that mouthy boy scout go? I have a world of respect for Dana Perino, and her addition to Fox only added 20 points to their collective IQ. But Perino is not trying to win the confidence of a nation. She can easily go elsewhere after Fox.

    2. FoxNews is the ONLY media outlet that will give the right wing the time of day. The rest of the MSM is bought and paid for by the left. We all know this. But that fact means that Fox is now the sole outlet for any kind of Republican-friendly broadcasting, and so the country has come to associate “Republican” with Fox. The lack of distinction means the left’s contempt for Fox is now added baggage she carries to the campaign. Fox is a conduit of hatred for the left. Palin has just added “Stooge for FoxNews!” to the baggage she’s trying to lighten.

    3. During her last run, she started okay and then sank badly. She needed to get her sea legs for national exposure. It didn’t happen for numerous reasons; mostly because she was not adequately prepared for what she encountered, and then because the MSM ganged up on her and made sure her every mistake became cause for national security. She was painted as the national dunce a la George W. Bush with lipstick. So she needs to win over a demographic that DOESN’T GO NEAR FOX IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Anybody who watches Fox would vote for her anyway. She’s preaching to the choir. She needs to redefine her national image, and a position on Fox is the last thing she should touch.

    She’s done.

    • richwill

Read her book. This will give her the exposure she needs. The only downside is her being on the air with Huckabee. Of course, he will make her appear even better.

    • MohammedSucksHogCock

I haven’t read her book. But her book was a good idea. It gave her the chance to define herself without having to kowtow to anyone, not even the GOP. If she wants to get to the WH, she needs to continue to define herself in such a way that outside forces don’t interfere, and to do it in a way that makes her greatest strengths as a candidate appeal not merely to her likeliest supporters, but to the on-the-fence undecideds and even some of her former detractors.

Again, Fox is not the way to do this. Not by a mile.

And, yes, even Chuck Norris looks better sitting next to Schmuckabee.

    • bacongreasenapalm

I agree, Mo`, something just doesn’t feel right about this. Fox is about the best we’re gonna get, but that doesn’t say much.

    • Blade Runner

 MSHC, there are a lot of flaws in your assessment above, particularly in point number 3. If you haven’t read “The Persecution of Sarah Palin”, by Matthew Continetti, you should. The leftist/media attack on her notwithstanding, Continetti’s book presents a clear picture of the sabotage of Sarah by McCain’s campaign managers, her handlers, and other assorted members of the campaign and the GOP.

    • MohammedSucksHogCock

If a new media outlet, cable or otherwise, were launched tomorrow that treated conservative topics with the same respect that Fox does, but showed a genuine effort to (1) avoid right-wing bias, and (2) stick to a code of principles that used to be called “journalism,” FoxNews would lose 70% of its viewers in six months.

The only reason they’re #1 is because they’re the only restaurant serving meat in a city with 80% vegetarians. They’re the only ones with steak on the menu. It doesn’t mean they’re good at what they do. They suck! Give them some competition and they’ll go down like a $20 whore.

These are not people Sarah Palin should be near if she’s looking for credibility for a large spectrum of voters. Remember how Reagan got popular? BIG TENT POLITICS! Fox is ideologically-hidebound and intolerant. They spend all their time bashing liberals because O’Reilly, Hannity and Beck come from radio. Their religion is “inflame the audience and incite hostility.” That’s how you keep a radio audience.

Palin goes to work for Fox and she is finished.

    • MohammedSucksHogCock

      BladeRunner: Right!

McCain’s handlers fucked her, probably as bad as the MSM. She kept getting defined by inadequate and/or hostile sources. She needed to define herself. Her book helped do that.

Fox won’t. I’m done with this. The woman is toast.

The bag of hammers called and uh,

well, they want their smarts back.

Sure, it’s sorta scary to see a real person stand on real principles.

Hey, just turn on MSLSD and they’ll make it all better….

    • Blade Runner

Hell, I’m no prophet. I can’t pre-judge or predict how giving Sarah a national microphone will play out. Given the uncertainty of our current circumstances, who the hell can? I reckon we’ll just have to see how it goes. I for one cannot throw an American patriot under the bus just because she is entering the media battlefield. One thing is undeniable, she has a helluva following and plenty of ammo. Who knows, Sarah’s presence on FOX might send its ratings skyrocketing. FOX, and friends, may be in for a big surprise.

    • MIDTN

Count me as one who feels she is making a mistake. She needs to be a candidate in waiting, not a Fox talking head. There is a fine line there.
This will not help her in any way….just saying.
      :???:

“Sure, it’s sorta scary to see a real person stand on real principles.”

How many candidates have come and gone the way of the woolly mammoth because they thought “standing on real principles” equated to an intelligent campaign strategy?!

Nice to hear from the local truck stop prophet. You just go on and keep dreaming that 300,000,000 Americans drink your particular flavor of Kool-Aid.

I disagree for all the reasons posted on ace.

Finally some one with a voice to look up to. Wonderful news…

Good show … Everybody wants to hear what Sarah has to say about everything, so what better way to do it.

Maybe she can bump Geraldo Rivera.

I think it’s a good move for her and America. We all need to see and hear more from her.
She can’t get a bit of fairness anywhere else. Is she supposed to limit herself to Facebook?
Reagan ran when the MSM had a modicum of integrity. That’s gone today.

    SARAHCUDA!!!!

    • Blade Runner

Roger that, Sully. Sarah’s experience as the VP candidate has taught her some harsh lessons where the media is concerned. She is much wiser now. If FOX tries to manipulate her or otherwise script talking points for her, I believe she’ll tell them how the cow ate the cabbage.

      I second: SARAHCUDA!!!!

  • shelly

doesnt matter what sarah does SOMEBODY will always be there to TRY and pick her apart. of ALL the bitchin that has gone on about her…well im still waitin to hear something worth bitchin about. pathetic

    Need anymore be said?

  • Nanny

I think it is a great addition to Fox. Besides, I don’t think she is going to run for anything now. She is going to be a voice for the CONSERVATIVES and helping them get elected – not the Republicans. Once the MSM pounced on her I think she figured out the best way to get back at them is join them and debunk the liberal shit they spew. After all – she does have a journalism degree. I look forward to what she has to say.

Lipstick in you face Obama!! I’m liking this one!! Palin speaks a language those whom love and support what America really is understand. Not the socialist mantra spewing out of the White House these days.

  • EL GONZO

I would pay $100,000 to see Sarah go up to Obama and give him a beautiful wink with her middle finger clearly up against his face as she points how much of a number “1″ he is, something that our generals are afraid to do even if they are suppose to protect the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, double for Obama since he is foreign as well….. Sarah has more balls and testosterone than most of our leaders in the armed forces and certainly more guts than our secret service….Is this going to hurt any chances for her run at the presidency? Not really, we (well THEY, ) voted in a fuck-wad mother-fucker “dialect” speaking a-hole, ass-licking commie who never had a real job and hates whites, A-Corn(ed hole) by the name of Obama… so sure, she’s got a chance.

What other network would suit Sarah Palin? Nothing but Fox for a fox. I look forward to seeing her on TV but I think all it will do for the MSM is give Rachael Madcow and Keith Olbermman someone else to rag on like they do Hannity, Beck and Limbaugh. I guess the good thing is that there will only be a handful of people watching those faggots at MSNBC.I hope Sarah puts a big Alaskan Bitch Slap on everyone at MSNBC. Kudos to Fox. This is why they are the news leaders.
