Obama Skips Jury Duty

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (AP) — A White House official says President Barack Obama will be skipping jury duty after being summoned in Illinois.

The administration official confirmed to The Associated Press on Sunday that the president alerted the court weeks ago that he won’t be able to make it. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to speak publicly.

Obama was summoned for jury duty at the Bridgeview courthouse in suburban Chicago starting Monday. The summons had arrived at the Obama home on Chicago’s South Side.

With his first State of the Union speech set for Wednesday, Obama has a busy week ahead.

      Of course, I love jury duty … I bring a few good books to read because when the defense lawyer(s) voir dire me, it takes them about 3 seconds to decide that I would be bad, very, very, bad for the defendent. Then I go back to reading in the jury pool. The last time I was called, I had the opportunity to possibly be on 3 separate juries, each one a violent crime case. I was always the very first to be dismissed by the defense attorney (pronounced blood-sucker). The last case, the prosecuting attorney gave me a smirk because she knew I was gone on the first round (she was REALLY, REALLY hot too as I recall).

      All-in-all jury duty is not that bad in my situation, I just wish the chairs were a little more comfy.

      I got recused after voir dire when I was asked “Oh, I see you work for Dr. Smith. How long have you worked for him.” The said Dr. was an OB/GYN and it was a rape trial. My answer, “well, in the office for the past 5 years, but really my entire life as he is my father,” got me out of there pretty quickly.

    He’s been skipping Commander-in-Chief duty for a year, now….

      Good one, so then, why should the military report to him in any way? Better yet, why is the military allowing him to be their “boss”? Embarrassing to have to “report and bow down” to this piece of shit……It’s almost funny in a sick way to see “tough and true patriots” pointing to him as his “boss”…I’m not doing it

    If he showed up in the courtroom, the judge could compel him to prove his eligibility to serve as a juror, i.e. show me a birth certificate…

    i get out of jury duty everytime. i tell them i am an ex fed. felon and the judges always ask can’t you be impartial? i tell them hell no. the judges get really pissed and keep talking in their condecending way. i interupt and look him right in the eyes and say you people set me up and now you want me to do something for you. forget about it, this judicial system is broken and you, judge can’t fix corruption when your the problem. the judges response, thank you for your time mr. gibbons you are excused.

    Just to be in the jury requires questions to be answered that this shithead would have to perjure himself with. Sure, it wouldn’t be him on trial, but his ‘truths’ and ‘reality’ are becoming confusing for him. It’s what happens when you have to cover up one lie after another.

    Last time I was on jury duty – it was a Capital Murder case and I was the jury foreman. Guess what? Crackhead Motherfucker – Guilty!!!!!!

    Now I know theres not a snowball’s chance in hell they will pick me,and I could get out of it very easily, but I wont, because its my CIVIC FREAKING DUTY :!:

    So many of you whine about the crime statistics but what do you do? See certified mail coming and hide. You ever wonder why O.J. was acquitted? Because good people (with fucking jobs) hid from jury duty, and worthless sympathetic lowlifes ended up on the jury :!:

    I would rather have him skip “Presidential Duty” as well…How and When can we get this ass hole out of our country? I would love to have jury duty if they ever get this piece of shit and charge him with high treason in a civil court, It won’t be a military court since he appears to be fine with our top brass even after crapping on our Constitution for over a year…..To our generals and armed forces: Could you get out of the way so that real patriots can take care of him? The Secret Service should not be a big obstacle…..

      He has been skipping out on that duty since 20 January 2009.
      What we need to do is charge him for collecting the pay for non performance, plus bill him for all of the protection services and travel on all of his family vacations that he tries to hide as political trips…

    I hate to say this but he is not alone. Other Presidents, while in Office, have also opted not to serve or they have been dismissed. Their high profile would impede the trial, not to mention the cost of protection. If our country is attacked I would not want our President (whoever it may be) be stuck in a jury trial. His having to leave would cause a mistrial and have to start all over. Don’t let the hate of Obama override logic and common sense.

    As for the Secret Service, it pains me to know they have to sell out their ethics, integrity, their soul and their oath to protect a Communist traitor, an enemy of the US.

      Walt, I have been “posting” your same sentiments since the first time I visited this site. cannot figure out why they (Secret Service) are protecting an impostor and a destructor of our Constitution. At some point, the oath to serve, protect and steward the beliefs and core values of our nation MUST kick in. Protecting a tyrant does not trump the others. By the very essence of protecting a facilitator of the demise of the Constitution, by default, the Secret Service should be called upon to articulate why they are breaking their oath and why are they also facilitating in the destruction of our Constitution to give way for a Socialist state. The Secret Service should be tried for treason sometime in the future when this night-mare (if it’s ever over) falls…and it will fall by vote or by blood, but it will fall. And if it comes to blood, the Secret Service should be hunted down for treason

    Folks Prosecutors Cops and Judges engage in bullshit tactics to squeeze people over shit minor crimes that back when I grew up were not even close to arrestable offenses let alone continued to prosecution.

    You all are turning your Domestic militarized police power on fellow Americans just to keep your “paycheck and feed the family” crap need to get off the fuckin force.
