Obama’s SotU: Ignorance Or Deception?

Tonight the president engaged in demogoguery of the worst kind, when he claimed that last week’s Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. FEC, “open[ed] the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections. Well I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities.”

The president’s statement is false.

The Court held that 2 U.S.C. Section 441a, which prohibits all corporate political spending, is unconstitutional. Foreign nationals, specifically defined to include foreign corporations, are prohibiting from making “a contribution or donation of money or ather thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State or local election” under 2 U.S.C. Section 441e, which was not at issue in the case. Foreign corporations are also prohibited, under 2 U.S.C. 441e, from making any contribution or donation to any committee of any political party, and they prohibited from making any “expenditure, independent expenditure, or disbursement for an electioneering communication… .”

This is either blithering ignorance of the law, or demogoguery of the worst kind.

      No, I think he can. There is a reason he said that. There is a reason he ‘attacked’ the Supreme Court.

      Remember, Hitler had a vision too. He wrote it all down in his little book Mein Kampf.

      I wonder where Obama’s vision statement is.

      I think a plan is being followed, step by step.

      I wish I was in a position to find that plan or at least traces of it.

      What Obama did last night is all part of a plan and his vision is wide and all encompassing.

      Never lose sight of that.

    These people have waited decades for this moment. They are not going to go away easily. I fear for my country. Impeachment, resignation, or civil war? I don’t know. I just don’t think that they will go away if the electoral process turns against them. No leftist regime in history has ever voluntarily relinquished power once attained. That is a lesson of history. I hope that I am a fool and dead wrong and that this situation will right itself in 2010 and finally in 2012. But the enemy is moving swiftly to subdue us. Thank God that the only thing Obama doesn’t have is an SS liebenstandarte-like private army loyal to him and not the Constitution. Maybe he does, but at this point I doubt it. Read Animal Farm and keep your power dry Patriots!

    He is NOT ignorant of the law. He is a demagogue of the worst kind. The transformation of this nation is complete. If you think you live in the Nation your fathers left you, you are seriously delusional. It is dead, a great experiment, but relegated now to the ash heap of history.

    There are too few patriots, and too many who seek a handout or a government job, with full retirement benefits after a career of doing no meaningful work. The destruction of the private sector is nearly complete. With your 401(k) and your IRA money being assimilated into “Social Security”, the insult added to injury will be too much to bear — but it is already too late to stop them. You will have only what the government gives you. Step up and protest, and you will not have even that.

    It is over.

      These are your words but it is not your heart. I sense that you still wish to fight. Begin with the battlefield that is your mind. Do not let these bastards beat you. We will emerge triumphant.       I, too, thought things were over.

      Then I went to Scott Brown events.
      This is not about one man, Scott or even me.

      What I saw were people, lots of people, waking up. I saw and heard stories as people realize that this is serious. I saw Vietnamese holding signs, homemade signs, “Vietnamese for Scott Brown”

      Vietnam Vets – tell me, are the Vietnamese a frivulous people? Do they blow around in the political winds?

      God, it was sterotypical. An elderly Vietnamese man being followed by younger Vietnamese men and women, circulating through the crowd, tears in his eyes.

      I think a vital piece of the Obama plan failed. Someone or some group failed to do what was expected of them.

      I think someone told Obama and or his group that if you say this or do that the right wing will respond like Bulls to red flags but any cattleman knows Bulls don’t respond to red they respond to movement…

      I think the Obama Plan expected a more dispirited group, less Tea Party and more hunkering down.

      In other countries where left wing revolutions took hold what did you see?

      Are you seeing that here?

      Obama has bitten off far more than he can chew and like Tojo said, a sleeping giant has been awoken.

      My true fear is that Obama’s SS is a Muslim group of some sort…a splinter off the Black Panthers, some prison Muslim group…if the Bull can’t be made to chase the red flag maybe it can be stampeded…

      Remember a hill outside of Boston. Bunker Hill.

      Remember a command.

      Don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes.

      You’re not anywhere near as alone as you think you are.

      Oh, things might get bleak but what I saw in the eyes of Americans during the Scott Brown rallies in MA , of all places, should stand you up straight, Zeek.

      The Cavalry is coming. Sadly, Obama thinks it’s coming to help him…

      It is not over — far from it.

      Remember in Nov.’08 how triumphant all the libs and socialists were — We got one of our own in the White House! We have filibuster-proof majorities in both houses of Congress! We own it all! It’s the dawn of a new Progressive era in America! HOORAY!!!

      Now look where they are, barely a year later. They SERIOUSLY underestimated the American people, and now they are flailing about in desperation, pointing fingers at each other over who’s to blame for the MASSIVE EPIC FAIL that has been Zero’s 1st year. Barry O’s popularity has plummeted at an unprecedented rate after only a year, and large swaths of the country are turning against him and the ‘Rats in Congress. The kool-aid drinkers in the MSM are having trouble defending him now, and even some of them are starting to jump ship. The general consensus already seems to be that his SOTU speech was an epic flop that will only hasten his decline. And after the recent election results and the ‘Rats befuddled, clueless reactions to them, I believe this trend will only continue.

      Therefore, it is far to early to give up. America has some fight left in her yet. :beer:

      And, this POS may have a brilliant plan to take us down step-by-step, but it will be a miscalculation because they underestimate us and the sheer numbers they are going to end up facing. Hold the line. Even for me, and maybe most of us, day to day we get discouraged, but there’s something we have they aren’t ready for … you can kill a person, but you can’t kill a spirit. Hold the line. Their days are numbered, but in the meantime we crouch and wait for the right time. And, the right time doesn’t have to be determined by us. Obama will hand us that on a silver platter.

      thats what i mean. by he can’t see an inch past his nose. i too lived the dream during scotts win, i saw people with tears in their eyes. tears of joy. obongo can’t see it comming. and when it hits him he will do something to be impeached.

    Um, yeah, what about all of those internet contributions that were made by Hamas and other foreign entities to Barry’s presidential campaign.

    Priceless: he single-handedly brought this country to near-ruin in a year’s time and has the gall to remind us that’s what he was voted into office for … to fix the problems that no one but he and the Dems created. Which came first – the chicken or the egg?

      I find it very interesting that Ted Kennedy who endorsed and forced his candidacy out of nowhere gets a brain tumor and even collapses during the innauguration reception. Very, very interesting.

    Tim Roesch: Thanks for that report, and I couldn’t agree more.

    It’s hard to stand firm and hold the line while the enemy advances, but stand firm we must. We might even have to take a hit or two before firing back, but Obama cannot conjure up any force that we cannot soundly defeat.

    Let’s just hope we our revolution doesn’t have to go beyond the voting booths.
