“Date With Destiny”: US Marines Prepare For Huge Offensive On Taliban Stronghold

I mean I think I understand the civilian thing..ok. But my Lord, how would you like to be with the Marines going into this! Yes, as a former Marine I understand that that the Marines are going to kick some serious ass. That is what we do. But really, to announce the attack to the world for the last month!?…don’t you think that needlessly endangers Marine lives?…and allows the enemy a chance to dig in to hardened positions? I am so sick of this politically correct style of fighting a war. If you have to drop leaflets, how about only 5 or 6 hours before? I’m just sayin’. I say God bless the Leathernecks and be a shield for them in peril! Your civilian leadership isn’t worth a crap but you should know and understand THAT YOUR COUNTRY LOVES, HONORS AND RESPECTS YOU.

The difficult done immediately, the impossible by appointment.

      Oorah.

      thrasy,

always wondered where that came from, we used it a lot when we had to play the dog and pony show games to get ready for stupid OG inspections. at least in the 80′s it was one ot the “hallowed sayings of the Old Corps” of the Marine Recruit training books.

MOTHERFUCKERS! I was supposed to be there. I was supposed to be part of these offenses into Afghan. Fuck those heavy brass collars that cut my unit in half 5 days, FIVE DAYS! before we deployed. And left us sitting here longing to be deployed.

May God watch over you all, and may you smoke many cave-dwelling throw-backs.

Unleash hell, and get your asses back to your families safe and sound.

-not taking the shot because the enemy makes cowardly but somewhat effective use of human shields has already cost/risked Marine lives.

-wounding or killing civilians means Green Helmet Guy gets to gleefully parade around the little dead kids which, combined with the relentless rhetoric and propaganda dished out by middle east media outlets, results in more jihadi recruits heading off to training camps – some of which may actually kill a Marine or two before they get their box of raisins.

-some of the civilians streaming out of the area due to the generous advanced warning may not be afraid to provide information on the soon to be dead jihadi scum who will be hard pressed to exact revenge on these “snitches”.

-if things get extremely harsh in the future, the west can point to these extraordinary efforts and say: See, we tried Nice Nice, but the savages didn’t return the favor at all. (I know the enemy media is hopeless, but this argument might steady a wavering ally or two keeping them in the fight and thereby saving some future Marine lives)

    “A Date With Destiny”…

    I like that one!

Whack ‘em and stack ‘em, boys! May God bless and keep the Marines cuz I know there will be some serious raghead ass whuppin in the near future.

I think it is a good idea. Certainly anyone left there wants to be there. I saw flatten the town by air, then send the seabees in to build everyone a better house than the one they started with and lose no marines. WHy go house to house when youdont have to these houses are hardly worth saving
