*Groan*: Scott Brown Votes For “Jobs” Bill

WASHINGTON, Feb 22 (Reuters) – A modest job-creation bill advanced in the U.S. Senate on Monday as the chamber’s newest Republican bucked his party and sided with Democrats on a $15 billion package of tax cuts and highway spending.

Republican Scott Brown joined four other Republicans, 55 Democrats and two independents to overcome a procedural hurdle that sets up a final vote later this week.

Brown was widely hailed as a conservative hero after his surprise victory in Massachusetts last month gave Republicans enough seats to block most Democratic legislation.

His election prompted President Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats to call for increased bipartisanship, and an earlier version of the bill was written with Republican input.

But key Republicans withdrew their support after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid scaled it back.

Brown said the bill was not perfect but would help put people back to work.

“I hope my vote today is a strong step toward restoring bipartisanship in Washington,” he said in a statement.

The bill includes a tax credit for businesses that hire unemployed workers, subsidies for state and local construction bonds and $19.5 billion to shore up a highway-construction fund.

Much of the cost is offset by a crackdown on offshore tax shelters.

  • Bobachek

If the Stimulus Plan was such a raging success as the Obama-bots try to get us all to believe, then why would you need a Jobs bill?
Isn’t that what the Stimulus Plan was for?
These people are just flat out hooked on spending money we do not have…It’s a fucking disease…

    • EL GONZO

We don’t have, but we will… what ever is left over of our savings, they will go after that as well…….

  • tlk

    We’re fucked.

    • EL GONZO

  • bacongreasenapalm

Shove the fucking bipartisanship up your ass, Brown. You know why you were elected and it wasn’t so you could be a progressive bipartisan republicrat. You better sart representin` homey.

  • http://none WWTD

Politics is what it is. I’m not throwing this guy under the bus yet. Coming from mass, three votes to see what we got.

  • Hawkerdriver (Pisson the Koran)

Didn’t take him long to join the club did it?

  • the friendly grizzly

Gee. That didn’t take long, did it?

  • Sully

    A “conservative hero”.

  • political.fish

    Scott Shit

  • CPLViper

And people were talking about him running for POTUS? Heh … just like I said … let’s wait and see his actions.

Mr. Brown, didn’t I carefully explain, when you were elected that you get one shot. So, I said, don’t fuck it up. Well, you just fucked it up. Should I even venture a guess at who the other Republicrats were?

I gotta say, at this point I feel like throwing up my hands and just walking away … but … I won’t. Excuse me while I go for some therapy (aka sitting alone, in the still and quite night, listening to the ratcheting of the steel plate spinning, the gentle tinking of brass and the slight thud as another round has completed being reloaded). A thousand or so and my head should a little clearer.

can you here my teeth grinding? fucking coward.

  • DC

His election was just a little too easy if you ask me.

  • Rocky Mtn 1776

This didn’t take long. He no more than takes the oath of office and is turning already. Must be some relation to Senator Ben (aka Benedict Arnold) Nelson from Nebraska. The Nebraska kickback is famous thanks to Nelson.
Any ideas Senator Brown may have had in running for President at a future date, he can forget ! Like so many others, he has sold his soul and his country for money, power and votes. He just did it faster than most ! Shame !

  • richwill

Scott Brown stated the fateful word—bipartisanship. This is the rallying cry of the liberals. He is history when it comes to being a conservative. Another lefty in sheeps clothing, which is the usual ruse of the communists. What the hell, he is from Massachusetts. He voted for the health care plan that is breaking the state and is not doing what it was suppose to. I know what else is new about universal health care. It was nice to feel good about something for a few days. No wonder Hussein thinks he can ram his healthcare bill thru.

  • MIDTN

He was so God damned devoted to, and appreciative of all the help from “marshmallow” McCain….chip of the old RINO…

    ….told ya!

    • MIDTN

P.S…..and someone needs to drive that truck of yours up your ass!

  • mark gibbons

i hope none of mary jo kopechnes family gets in his truck. if they do, take a life jacket. this fuckstick is a fraud. i spent way too much time working for him.
i wonder how many people feel betrayed by benedict brown? his phone lines are full. he will serve out teds time left and then he will be under the bridge. i knew he was a rino, but this is fing wrong. if the farley brothers are looking for the third stooge, they just found him.

  • Bobby E

This is the hallmark of progressives … deceit. It is their strategy and I am willing to bet this was set up from the get go. The American people, Massachusetts voters in particular, have been punked by the Zero Administration. Brown is not the only RINO to vote yea. Snowe and Bond signed on also.

  • ji

At least he is more conservative than the girl the republicans wanted to put up for election.
    But not by much.

  • Gaige Mosher

God, you are all a bunch of hysterical bitches…

    • Tom in CO

  • Double Tap

Well, the first clue that anyone is going to be a political traitor is that they actually *want* to go into the stinking sewer known as WashDC. Anyone that expresses that particular desire is automatically a scumbag in my book. No one wants to go into the sewer unless they enjoy the company of turds.

  • cold soldier

To quote Gus McRae as said to Jake “You ride with an outlaw, you die with an outlaw”

I knew it all along…nothing good will come out from taxachusets. Another fuck up Army JAG. Elect a lawyer to office and they will stab you. Screw you Brown!!!!!!!

  • Axel Myer Woltan

    Why the surprise?

Folks its rigged. There is NO OPPOSITION.

Its a “Club”. Your either “In” -Congress President Lawyers Banksters and Lobbyists

    or

Your “Out” American citizens, working class, tradesmen, craftsmen, soldiers.

How naive can my fellow Americans be?

    The gig is up.

Its Weimar Germany circa 1930. Go look it up. Its Pre-Hitler Bolshevism. Weak leadership and corruption International Finance Capital control and a disrespect for (American)German Soldiers and the Working Class. We are slaves to Usury Fraud and Corruption. We are brainwashed with Frankfurt School Cultural Marxism

Its Not Present Hitler or Post Hitler

Give me the Hardharts and the Helmets and I will take Washington DC before its to late.

  • GRIZZ

      wtf?
the more things change, the more they stay the same

  • Marc

What did everyone expect from a “Republican” from of all places Massachusetts?

The one thing I want out of all of this is that Brown, Palin, Romney, & others whom endorse the re-election of RINO McCain will be wasting their breath & the people of Arizona stick it to McCain & vote in JD Hayworth.

    • http://www.bootparkergriffith.com The Sentinel at the Gate

Here-here! JD Hayworth is the Man!

    • mark gibbons

      make it happen arizona, please.

  • tahDeetz

Remember folks, the elections of Scott Brown, Cristy, & McDonnell are steps, not leaps.

Our path back to the Right & Constitutionality will be incremental, just as it was to the marxist Left. . . or we will have an American Pinochet, which will be the only thing that will truly cut the marxist cancer from the American soul.

If Coakley had been elected, we would now have Health Control.

Want some real inspiration? Check out LTC Allen West’s utube vids. Go West!!

    tD

    • thrasymakhos

I am disappointed with the vote. I agree 100% that had Cloaca been elected we would have health care. For the next 2 elections I am going to follow Reagan’s observation that “the person that agrees with me 80% of the time is my friend.” This is going to be a long march. Brown was a big victory so don’t lose heart. We are simply not going to be able to give everyone who runs an IG for conservative principle purity. I am for the man who is in any degree against Hussein and his progressive hordes. We can do the best we can and that is the best we can do.

    • Hawkerdriver (Pisson the Koran)

Yeah,I like West alot.Wish he was from my home -20.

  • Oil Robber

Well I’m not going to get my panties all bunched up in a knot yet. He’s “center-right” and from Mass.
But I will say this: Looks like the ladies from Maine now have a little brother!

  • neofish

Here’s his blog post about the vote:

“I came to Washington to be an independent voice, to put politics aside, and to do everything in my power to help create jobs for Massachusetts families. This Senate jobs bill is not perfect. I wish the tax cuts were deeper and broader, but I voted for it because it contains measures that will help put people back to work.

I was disappointed with the continuation of politics-as-usual in the drafting of this bill, as it was crafted behind closed doors, without transparency and accountability. I hope for improvements in that process going forward. All of us, Republicans and Democrats, have to work together to get our economy back on track. I hope my vote today is a strong step toward restoring bipartisanship in Washington.”

“I was disappointed with the continuation of politics-as-usual in the drafting of this bill, as it was crafted behind closed doors, without transparency and accountability.”…

THEN WHY DID YOU FU$KING VOTE FOR IT A$%HOLE!!!

  • Gaige Mosher

NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS BLACK AND WHITE! Let alone politics. There are net-goods, net-evils, and neutral actions. Brown saw his vote on this bill as a net-good or at least a neutral. Get over it.

What’d you expect him to do? Leap upon Harry Reid’s desk after being sworn in and beat the old fucker to death with his cock?

    Jesus CHRIST, get over yourselves…

    • MIDTN

EVERYONE is entitled to their opinions……..nobody has to “get over” anything…………. :!:

    • Hawkerdriver (Pisson the Koran)

Would of been better than lying down in bed with the bastard.Get over YOURself.Nothing will change untill we are totally polarized.

  • Tim Roesch – pseudo intellectual

I just heard him on the Howie Carr radio talk show.

First, he voted for a procedural vote to move the bill out of debate to, as he put it, prevent anything from being added to it.

I would take his advice and read the bill BEFORE you call him a RINO and threaten to shove large SUVs into his rectum.

Personally, I think he’s making his bones in a very dangerous place. I realize there are those who are on hair trigger mode but things don’t change overnight.

I listened to him and I agree with him. I will have to read the bill to see if what is being said is correct and YOU all should too.

And when are we invading Detroit?

  • richwill

The day he went to DC I posted about how long it would take for DC and congress to subverthim. He set a record: one bill, one vote and he showed his true colors. I imagine Teddy boy toasted him from his grave.

  • Moriah

Don’t put your trust in any man. There are people out there who are playing the conservative movement.
Conservative Americans can’t scrutinize their “republican” candidates enough. We’re in this mess because of our so-called Republican leaders. I’m not thanking them for sh*t until they start stepping up to the PC Multy-culty terrorist appeasing, America-hating, religion bashing, Marxists. It’s more than saying “I’m a conservative and I drive a truck!” When they embrace the truth and that includes the only one telling the truth, Michael Savage then I might start listening to them. So fuck Scott Brown and the truck he rode in on! :gun:

    • Hawkerdriver (Pisson the Koran)

      Savage ROCKS !

      :gun: :gun:
