    Righteous ass was what much of the anti-war movement of the late 60′s/early 70′s was all about. It was the dawning of the age of “the pill” and hippie chicks were really into “free love” so lots of guys went to marches and rallies just to go back to college class and brag about their “bravery” for the cause to the hippie chicks. It worked.

    Also, there was more and higher quality weed and acid available in leftist circles. Lots of people were in it for this as well.
