Dan Rather: “Articulate” Obama Couldn’t Even “Sell Watermelons”

HDNet’s Dan Rather stepped on one mine after another in the racial minefield that exists when talking about the nation’s first black President as the former CBS anchor, on the syndicated Chris Matthews Show on March 8th, uttered the following take on the President’s ability to get health care passed and how the GOP and independents would view it.

DAN RATHER: Part of the undertow in the coming election is going to be President Obama’s leadership. And the Republicans will make a case and a lot of independents will buy this argument. “Listen he just hasn’t been, look at the health care bill. It was his number one priority. It took him forever to get it through and he had to compromise it to death.” And a version of, “Listen he’s a nice person, he’s very articulate” this is what’s been used against him, “but he couldn’t sell watermelons if it, you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic.”

    If I live to be a hundred, I will never understand how, Obama, away from his teleprompter, can in any way, shape or form, be considered “articulate.” I am not the world’s smartest man, but try as I might, when I listen to him, I cannot make out what he is saying or driving at. I understand that words, but the logic of them escape me. Obama has a sonorous, baritone voice that is pleasing to the ear but that is about it.

      I’ve tried over and over to listen to Obongo, but he absolutely makes my head hurt. His stuttering and stammering, even with a teleprompter, makes him look like the buffoon he really is. He may be evil smart, but he’s a long way from the Pied Piper he is portrayed as.

      And Rather is right, he couldn’t sell watermelons, cause he’s never held a job in his life. Where would he get the watermelons? He certainly couldn’t grow them; that’s constitutes work – something he has successfully avoided all his life. He would probably get SEIU to steal them for him.

      Perhaps Rather could arrange an interview with barry sotero and sean penn, and they could all communicate through, chirps, whistles, clicks, and grunts. :lol:

      That’s funny as hell but I fail to see the racism in it.Everybody knows the brutha can’t resist snitchin from a watermellon patch when opportunity presents itself.For example; Bongo be’s the brutha and our money be’s the mellon patch, he be snitchin big time.

    It’s not what he says, it’s who he says it too. This is how he was elected, it’s all in the class of people his speech is given to impress.

    He told the voters during the campaign what he would do if elected, why is anyone surprised now? They got what they voted for..hope & chains !
