DeMint to Introduce Bill to Repeal ObamaCare

March 21, 2010 – WASHINGTON, D.C – Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) announced that he will introduce legislation this week to repeal President Obama’s government takeover of health care. House Democrats voted this evening to pass the Senate version of the health care bill and it will likely be signed into law by President Obama later this week.

“This bill is unconstitutional and it cannot be fixed. It must be repealed,” said Senator DeMint. “The battle for health care freedom is not over and I will introduce legislation this week to repeal this health care takeover.

“Unless this trillion-dollar assault on our freedoms is repealed, it will force Americans to purchase Washington-approved health plans or face stiff penalties. It will fund abortions, raise taxes and insurance premiums, while reducing health care choices and quality.”

“This arrogant power grab proves that the President and his party care more about government control than the will of the American people. Americans told Washington to keep its hands off their health care in opinion polls, at public protests, and at the ballot box, but their pleas were ignored.

“If the President and Democrats were serious about true health care reform, there were many free-market solutions we could have easily passed. Americans support commonsense reforms such as purchasing coverage across state lines, stopping frivolous medical lawsuits, and giving the same tax breaks to Americans who don’t get their insurance at work. Unfortunately, Democrats refused to listen.”

The bill passed in the House today raids $52 billion from Social Security, cuts nearly $500 billion from Medicare, and doesn’t account for the hundreds of billions Congress must pass to pay doctors who treat elderly patients.

TEXT of Senator DeMint’s bill to Repeal ObamaCare:

To repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. REPEAL.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and the amendments made by that Act, are repealed.

This may seem like hindsight and perhaps it is a bit, but only because I apparently have this personal failing where I want to believe that my fellow Americans, including a certain percentage of the Democrats in Congress, will take the correct action that is in the greater good, supporting the principles that our country was founded on, Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Yet on some level, I knew all along this legislation was going to pass, just like I know, I don’t know how I know, I just know, Obama’s executive order prohibiting the Federal funding of Abortion, one way or another is going to be nothing more than bullshit, that will, in the end, amount to nothing.

November 3, 2010, a day that will live in infamy?

Anyways, it’s been a long bleeping weekend and I salute all of you fellow patriots.

This isn’t the end, it’s just the beginning, they have no idea what’s coming there way, neither do I and that’s the beauty of it, think about it, I will.

You know. I’m kind of getting tired of this “November 3rd” thing. Four years ago, we “never” would have elected a Marxist as Prez…we did. Then, govt. health care will never pass…it did. Now, we’re going all-in for the November elections? Do y’all truly think that there isn’t going to be some way in which the Dems retain power in Congress? Please.

I think last night proved that the sanctity of our Country’s rule of law doesn’t matter. Until we give up the “let’s play nice and do it by the book” crap, this will continue to happen. We play by the rules; they don’t. It’s time for action.

    Find your ONE THING.

    Everyone! Today.

Find and do your ONE THING.

I won’t tell you what it is but we all need to do it wherever we are with whatever tools we have available.

We need to get the momentum on our side and we need to make the congress aware that there are consequences for their unconstitutional actions.

A nice gesture, but it won’t happen unfortunately.

I wrote a letter to my representatives in opposition to the health care-less bill. Yeah, I know it’s pointless but that’s one way that I vent. The only response I got was from BarbBoxer, excuse me briefly, (auto reflexive barf  )…the arrogance in the response was beyond what I expected!

 Remember the “radical 60′s”? Building’s burned, property destroyed, people shot, nasty, nasty time. Perp’s should have been put in prison for their crimes but where are they now? You guessed it.

Let it begin again… Only this time, for the good guys.

    Scenario for repeal:

GOP takes over House/Senate/POTUS in 2013.(quite doable). Repeal using budget recon, thus avoiding filibuster.
