In my opinion, bricks are no longer necessary.

Allow me to provide an example.
My last name can be, with mild grammatical gymnastics, be transformed into the name for a certain insect.
When I was in the fourth grade Roach Motels were just coming out and one young classmate thought it was funny to make constant references to my family’s new business. She would make stomping motions on the floor, flick the lights on and off.

One day, since my mother drove the school bus for the private school I was there early and found a baggie and collected an interesting diversity of cockroaches and placed them inside.

Sure enough, young lady came into the classroom and made a joke about cockroaches. I suggested my family wanted to speak to her. She began stomping on the ground and committed a grave error.
She looked down.
Into her long, blonde hair went the bag of cockroaches.

I got a few swats (yes, corporal punishment) but from that moment on all I had to do was hold out my closed hand or pull a plastic bag out of my pcoket and she would go into hysterics.

What’s my point?

What if two hundred people started walking around the DNC holding red bricks. Just holding them. No threatening gestures, no throwing motions…

Hmm, are they having their moment of epiphany.

The one where they begin to realize that their actions have consequences.

Probably hasn’t dawned on them yet, but sooner or later it will.
