In a Constitutional Republic the POTUS is a human being not some Persian god-king. What is wrong with us?!? To have to approach him as an obsequious bootlick and genuflect or grovel is totally unworthy of an American citizen and free man. Baer was courteous, suscinct, and showed due respect and was not interviewing Louis XIV. In fairness, Obama was combative, interruptive and ultimately he was the one who ASKED to be interviewed or at least consented to it. Yes, he is a high official, but he is an ELECTED official nonetheless, and does not hold office by divine right or an accident of birth. I get very sick of the “cult of the President.”
