Republicans: We don’t agree with the bill at all, & the majority of the American public do not agree with it either.
Democrats: I think we are really close hear, I think we are almost in agreement. Let’s work it out in a month, & then vote on it.
PS: if you don’t vote for it we’ll use Reconciliation to ram it through anyway.
Democrats to the American people: We tried to work with the Republicans but they didn’t want to agree.
