Weird New Terrorism?: Illegal Aliens Sabotaging Railroads

FLAT ROCK — Henderson County Sheriff’s deputies caught two men pulling up hundreds of steel railroad spikes from a section of active train tracks near Flat Rock, Sheriff Rick Davis said.

A witness called 911 around 3:30 p.m. Sunday reporting suspicious activity on the tracks, which are owned by Norfolk Southern Railroad, near West Blue Ridge Road.

Deputies found Cruz Mario Carnacion, 37, and Jose Luis Trejo-Yanez in possession of more than 500 7-inch spikes, which weigh about a half-pound each and can be sold for scrap.

Davis called the pair’s actions “incredibly selfish,” saying the missing spikes could have caused a train to derail.

“We’ve never heard of it, we’ve never seen it where people are actually pulling up railroad spikes,” he said. “This act of theft could have easily had catastrophic consequences had a train derailed in this area.”

The pair pulled most of the spikes directly from the railroad ties, though some were lying loose along the tracks, Davis said.

Deputies immediately called officials with Norfolk Southern to report the theft and the possible threat to the integrity of the tracks, he said.

Norfolk Southern Public Relations Manager Robin Chapman said he could not comment on the condition of the tracks.

Chapman said thieves often walk tracks to collect loose railroad spikes to sell to scrap metal yards.

“One individual spike isn’t worth that much scrap value, but you collect a quantity of them,” he said.

Carnacion and Trejo-Yanez were charged with felony conspiracy to damage railroad property, willful injury to railroad property and trespassing on railroad property.

The men did not give a permanent address and Henderson County’s immigration program determined they had entered the United States illegally, Davis said.

They were each placed under a $25,000 bond and ordered held on Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainers pending deportation proceedings.

    How about this for punishment – place their tied wetbacks asses on the tracks with their neck on one rail and the legs on the other and then run 4 locomotives and 20 rail cars full of coal over their sorry beaner asses!

Incredibly selfish!?! :mad: Summary execution of these people is called for. What are we doing playing games with terrorists?. These aren’t just people trying to sneak over for a job. Put their heads on a spike. Eat their heart. Our “Constitutional Protections” were made for a civilized people. These monsters know no bounds. When war does come it will be freaking ugly and will have to be fought by men who have no remorse or hesitation because they are fighting for love of everything that is decent and just. There is no excuse for pulling up railroad tracks or filling your underwear with explosives to kill people.

    Sorry about the rant. I am a man of peace and civilization but I just about explode when I see the fix that we have worked ourselves into so I take it back. Rather than spiking their head and eating their heart outright, I would have a trial (brief)followed by administering a small caliber bullet to the base of their brain. There, I feel better.

    In ’97-’98, there is an unsolved TERRORISM CASE where the Amtrack passenger train was derailed in the desert by sabotage.

    It was felt by many to be middle-eastern and Mexican connected LaRaza-types to see “what would happen”. I remember it killed a dozen or so.

    It was just swept under the rug by Clinton, even though it was always considered TERRORISM. It was just like TWA 800, which by most, was also an Iranian-led TERRORIST ATTACK!!!!!!!

      People ripping copper wiring out of empty buildings has been a problem over the last few years, especially back when copper prices were high in 2007. Occasionally these thieves electrocute themselves when they don’t know that the power is still on:

      When steel prices where high a ton of 1 foot rail ie Train Rail was 800.00 a ton vast sections of old rail yards in Gary and Chicago where looted.If you notice that a large amount of junk yards cleared the old junk cars out cast engine blocks drum breaks rotors China and Inida where at 400.00 a ton
      back over the summer I watched a pair of guy load up a 4×8 1/2 inch piece of sheet steel and put it on the roof of a Honda civic and drive off.
      Its not as bad when the Chicago brick craze the old blacks would get young kids to chip the bricks from inside of condemed houses and a few where killed when the house collapsed from them underminning the support brick.
