    Had a thought the other day about this incident. Has anyone else thought of this beinf an intentional event? Such as, someone planted to cause an explosion leading to yet another crisis? I am typically no a conspiracy theorist kind of guy but I have to say the timing of this is way to convient. I am also no expert on oil drilling or drilling rigs but I do not recall this kind of occurence historically (an explosion that completely takes out an oil rig). Also, why did it take so long to get the Navy involve. Our deep asturation divers are suited well for this type of mission. Just seems to convient and a much needed push by this assclown administration to push the ignorant toward the way of “green” and “cap & trade”. I smell something funny guys!!

      1988 Jul 8, 1988 – … … oil platform off the east coast of Scotland exploded and burned in what officials said was the worst rig disaster in North Sea history. 165 FEARED DEAD.

      1989 Mar 20, 1989 – NEW ORLEANS An- offshore oil drilling platform burned early today after explo sions on it and an adjacent rig injured at least 13 crewmen and left seven missing.

      2001 Mar 19, 2001 – The world’s largest offshore oil rig stopped sinking three days after massive blasts rocked the structure, killing 10.

      2010 Apr 21, 2010 NEW ORLEANS — BP rig.

      I’ve thought the same thing pub. I’ve also thought about what MarineDoc said above. It seems way to convienient and I feel that unfortunately they are playing on the hearts of the family members who lost loved ones in the tragedies to impose more gov. control on these industries. I watched an interesting Glenn Beck the other day that was all about Evil Inc. and the BS that they have going on with their new Carbon Tax and who would benifit the most.. Just got me thinking is all…

    And on another note.. These people should realize that the people who operate these oil rigs, I would think would be the most concerned about this tragedy. They pay for it two fold, not only do they have to pay for the massive clean up, they are also losing money for every gallon that is leaking from the pipes. I’m sure they are going to get if fixed faster than anyone else could.

    The reason there was an accident is that they were drilling over 5000 feet of water and only because they are prohibited from drilling closer to shore or on land.
