    David Letterman is a failure desperately grasping for ratings while in a viewership free fall. Disgracefully admitting he knows “nothing about the Tea Party” after attempting to use it for the butt of his poorly delivered and childishly written jokes since its inception. Go screw some more staff members and leave the politics to us adults who make up the Tea Party movement.

    Wow! That woman was fantastic. What a lesson in strength of conviction and clarity of thought. Quiet spoken with great composure. If that interview didn’t reach independent thinkers nothing ever will. Letterman tried to bait her 4-5 times and her response was solid. Why was she on in the first place? I only think of his show as being nothing short of trivia… chewing gum material.

      Why was she on ?? His ratings are in the toilet, he’s trying to lure some of the people he’s pissed off back. It’s not going to work with me.

    What a coup getting Letterman to man up and use his brain would be?

    Letterman actually wasn’t so bad–he had his mild humorous jabs, but I think he decided on his approach early on when he realized he wasn’t talking with a dolt–I still recognize talking points I wish I could’ve refuted. Really, what if she looked him dead in the eye and asked him to explain long term national strategy with regards to the balance of hegemony in the Persian Gulf region with respect to Iran and Iraq…

    I would say that the questions he asked were pathetic. My answers would have been along the same lines but I would have had him cutting to a commericial when the topics of bank deregulation and the war came up where I would have been verbally beating him into a pulp.

    Also, on the topic of Capitalism and business … I would have asked him a simple question … “Why does your show have commericials?” and let him do that stupid grin into the camera for 5 minutes.

    Big time score for calm, confident, rational thought. This woman did great.

    What I’m surprised by is they (Letterman & producers) had to know she was articulate and enduring. If the intent was to get a “strawman” for Letterman to knock down, they wouldn’t have invited her on. They really could have found someone that would have looked weak and crazy to fulfill the MSM/WH stereotype they’ve been pushing for months. I’m not a Letterman fan at all and as twp posted he did try to trip her up a few times and spewed talking points, but he did allow her fully answer and refute his misconceptions. If anything, Letterman ended up to be the nervous one in the face of confidence.

    So I wonder if there is division behind the scenes at CBS which set this up. Although I do agree it’s a ratings grab, if we put forward people like her then I don’t care if ratings are their motive. The average American watching this can’t help but think there is good behind the TP movement and start to question why opponents are driving so hard to destroy honest average citizens that are concerned for their country. No matter how hard the WH/Dems/MSM try to spin the polls and smear good people, it’s obviously the message is getting through load and clear to the American people.

    With regard to the ‘birther’ question, she should have just started asking him questions, like:

    What was the definition of ‘natural born citizen’ at the time the Constitution was written?
    What was the citizenship of Obama’s father?
    What was the age of his mother at the time of his birth?
    What was US law at the time regarding the citizenship of children born to underage mothers and foreign fathers?
    Was ‘Barry’ adopted by Lolo Soetoro when Obama’s mother married him and moved to Indonesia? Did he become a citizen of Indonesia at that time?
    Why won’t Obama release his Occidental college transcripts or medical records?

    There are legitimate reasons to think he may not be a US citizen, and the onus should be on him to prove he is, not on us to prove otherwise. The short form COLB certainly doesn’t cut it in the face of other possible corroborating documents that he has refused to release.

    Questions can be powerful things.
