    Okay, how about “Betrayer”?

Stole my line. J. McCain confusing maverick with turncoat or betrayer.

The useful idiot has outlived his usefullness. Time to move on with a real Republican. His imprisonment must have scrambled his brains. Too bad for America.

I’ll give the guy the benefit of the doubt – I think he is simply exhausted (mentally, emotionally, and physically) by this political lifestyle

Wrong, guys. This is not really strange. John McCain is simlpy not comfortable with the “maverick” label any more because it does not communicate the fact that John McCain has consistently been and based on principle totally opposed to Obama with respect to both domestic policy and foreign policy.

It was McCain who called Obama’s trillion dollar deficit spending was “generational theft.” McCain has denounced Obama for running a left wing crusade. McCain was pushing for a surge in Afghanistan and has been very critical of Obama’s failure to support the Iranian dissidents. McCain’s voting record overall has always been moderately conservative and in the last 1 1/3 years has been conservative — period — in voting against Obama’s bills and nominees.

McCain really was a foot soldier for the Reagan Revolution when he was voted into the House in 1982 and then to the Senate in 1986. He has returned to his roots; that’s all.

Your are too kind. You neglected his getting in bed with the murderer Ted Kennedey. I lost track of the times he crossed the aisle just to make a name for himself. McCain/Feingold is a prime example of his willingness to take away freedom. Feingold is a democrat for Wisconsin, home of the left wing liberals.
