“Uh…”: GOP Lawmaker Grilled By Tea Party Activist On His Knowledge Of The Constitution

Dang, elect that young man. We need more citizen legislators and not career political hacks.

    • Xcrypto

He was very respectful…yet the a-hole with the “Congressman” called him “out of order”! It’s time to flip this house. Require candidates to demonstrate an understanding of the Constitution before they ask for our vote and pay check. Put procedures in place in all 50 states that make it easier to recall them when they get to Washington and renege on everything they say in a campaign. Too much damage can be done in two years. Look where we are after just one year of Democrat control.

When one considers the actions of this administration in blatant disregard for constitutional limits, in the face of a military leadership who is willing to fight for the freedom of foreign nationals, but unwilling to defend America’s freedom at home, we are simply, doomed.
I remain ready and willing to fight to restore the republic at such a time as our military recalls its history and duty, and finds again the courage it once had to remove tyrants. Until then, I weep for the rapid death of liberty.

Ooh Rah!! Well articulated, young man!! Well done!

  • richwill

The young man stated his case very succinctly and with knowledge. The representative is typical of what we have in congress today. The only thing the members of congress can read are bills that formulate more control, increase regulations, and increase taxes. I misspoke, I doubt if they read the bills they for which they cast a vote. They sure as hell did not read the hellcare bill.

    • richwill

Bad proofing. I doubt if they read the bills for which they cast a vote.

  • Tim Roesch – pseudo intellectual

God damn, I wish I was there.
Where were the people applauding and supporting him? Where were the people shutting down the man (a term used lightly in this case) who, upon hearing the five rights enumerated in the First Amendment, decided that a monitor was needed to violate at least two of them.

Damn, sign that man up and get his back.

Why should our representatives know what the Constitution says. It is a useless scrap of paper used by congress as a door mat on the threshhold of socialism.

    • Blade Runner

Man, the fundamental point that patriot was making in video went right over your head. Any literate individual can read “what the Constitution says”; the representatives we are looking for are those who have studied, understand, and embrace the principles framed within it.

The Constitution may mean nothing to that current mob of gangsters in the city of Disorganized Crime, but I took the oath when I was seventeen and to me, it is most definitely not a “useless scrap of paper.” Obviously, the young fella in the video feels the same way.

  • PUNISHER55

Lets corner all of these crooked bastards and grill all of them on what they know about the Constitution !

    • MinneSoCold

Is it too much to ask that there should be a required “Constitution Boot Camp” for any and all that seek public office? Seriously, if you want to serve the people we will make damn sure you understand and honor the Constitution. And to kill two birds with one stone, we’ll also verify that you meet all requirements for the given office. Then they have to pass a psychiatric evaluation. Lastly, each candidate will “mock-vote” a list of “mock-bills” acting as a voter guide to the candidate (litmus test). ALL before they enter a race and/or re-election…. which has term limits.

Oh… lawyers, professors, politicians and the like…. they get the waterboard treatment to make sure they’ll adhere to the Constitution if elected.

Funny watching the dufus, cowardly, ignorant Congresscritter run over to hide behind someone who was apparently his “spokesman”. The Congresscritter stood there like a chastised kindergartner while his “mommy” took up for him. The crowd sat there like a bunch of zombies. Get rid of that “Representative” regardless of Party affiliation. He’s no more deserving of that office than the Dem. who wasn’t worried about the Constitution when handing out bennies.

wow, good stuff, that’s our little red book, the constitution. amazing that they don’t teach that to people under the age of 25 anymore. i declare that we do hold these truths to be self evident.
