Banks Won’t Cash Fort Hood Jihadi’s Military Paychecks

The accused Fort Hood gunman, an army psychiatrist, is still getting paychecks from the U.S. military — but soon may not have a bank to cash them.

Bank of America has given Maj. Nidal Malk Hasan 30 days to find another bank to cash his checks. Hasan’s attorney, John Galligan, told KVTX.com that the bank didn’t give for terminating his account, but instead said it was doing so “at their own discretion.”

Bank of America declined to comment for this story, citing its client privacy policies.

Hasan is currently being held Bell County, accused of killing 13 in the Nov. 5 shooting spree.

Hasan’s legal team is on the hunt for a bank that will accept the deposits. But already a half-dozen local banks, including Chase Bank, Compass Bank, Fort Hood National Bank and the Pentagon Federal Credit Union, have refused him as client.

The Army requires direct deposit, so without a bank, Hasan would be without a paycheck.

But Fort Hood officials told FoxNew.com that military financial advisers will assist in resolving the problem, and Hasan will be paid eventually, even though banks are making it difficult.

“It’s a testament to the discriminatory and toxic environment that exists toward my client in the Fort Hood and Bell County communities,” Galligan told KVTX.com. “He’s presumed to be innocent, he hasn’t been found guilty to any offense. He’s never, to the best of my knowledge, violated any requirements established by any bank,” he said.

Last year’s shooting rampage left Hasan paralyzed when he was shot by two civilian police officers.

    Why the fuck is this Musslimb being held in a county lock-up? His ass should be at Leavenworth under max security and his fucking paycheck should be garnished during his imprisonment. Only if he is found not guilty (not likely) should his pay be restored with back pay. This is absolute fucking nonsense.

      Fort Hood has no confinement facilities so they contract with the Bell County Sheriffs Office to hold their prisoners. Though we all know he is guilty, he must still have his due process. Until then he still is technically an officer of the US Army. Even if he is an extremist Muslim traitor. Too bad Texas proper isn’t handling the procedings. Then we would be sure that this individual would get the proper visit to a certain room in Huntsville.

      This is bogus. I respect your information WRT Hood and facilities but the fact remains that he committed this crime on a military installation and as a service member he is subject to UCMJ which has provisions for at least a temporary forfeiture of pay during incarceration, since he is a guest with no need for money, AND before he lived like a hermit sending the bulk of his pay to Islamic extremists. Is he still being allowed to do this?

      And if Hood has no facilities, the CG Hood should have sent his ass to Leavenworth by chopper if necessary since it is the premier military facility.

      I smell a complete and utter travesty of justice in this case. Hassan will somehow wiggle out of the noose, with the help of Obongo, the DOJ and the military.

    Well, without a doubt, this is truely disturbing. The only thing that the civilian officers did wrong was not shooting vital areas of this peice of crap. Then we wouldn’t have this problem in the first place. I only hope that when he gets to his new home, they feed that P. O. S. (peice of shit), nice big slab of pork and shove it down his throat.

    I would agree that the police should have finished him when they had the chance. BUT since they didn’t we have to follow the rule of law. The sooner they strip him of his rank the better. As an old “cold warrior” infantry officer, I am more concerned about how this puke bag got and was allowed to maintain a commission in OUR Army in the first place!
