Here It Comes… 128 Congressional Dems Propose Healthcare “Public Option” As Deficit Remedy

Reporting from Washington â€” As both political parties worry about the growing federal deficit, an unlikely proposal is returning from last year’s divisive healthcare debate: the “public option.”

Creating a major government health insurance program was roundly rejected last year, but 128 House Democrats are pushing to reconsider the idea, contending that it would hold down federal spending.

Their bill, which faces long odds, would allow Americans who do not get insurance at work to choose a government health plan starting in 2014.

“There is all this concern about the deficit,” said Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-Petaluma), a leading champion of the proposal. “Well, guess what: This would reduce the deficit because it saves so much money.”

Woolsey and her allies, including Rep. Pete Stark (D-Fremont), are armed with a new analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. Democrats say the CBO projects that the public option could save the government $68 billion between 2014 and 2020.

The government’s administrative costs would be lower than private insurers’, proponents say, and it could pay hospitals and doctors less. That would mean lower premiums â€” and lower government subsidies for policyholders who need them.

Insurance companies, hospitals and other businesses say a public option would undermine employer-provided insurance and set the stage for a so-called single-payer system, in which the government would be the only insurer.

Nor are Republican budget hawks likely to sign on â€” even though the projected savings coincidently match what the leading House GOP healthcare proposal would have generated, according to the CBO.

And with a full plate of legislative business, House Democratic leaders have little interest in restarting a healthcare debate that split their own ranks.

Woolsey said she is willing to wait. “This will be there for the next Congress,” she said.

hmmm. Medicaid costs 500 billion a year to cover the healthiest 8% of the population, young adults and children. Medicare is going broke and the only way to save money is to pay doctors less…we spend 1 trillion dollars a year now just for Medicare and Medicaid.

Now they want a THIRD government bureaucracy …and this will save money? They must be dumber than they think we are.

They have to move quicker than anticipated because there is a concurrent move to line up House members to repeal this Obamanation … the numbers are growing. Be that as it may, even though Zero is acting at will without regard to his criminality, I see things beginning to backfire on him. This won’t prevent any bloodshed … this will be Zero’s final option and he will use it … but will begin to undo this cabal of thieves and con artists. You may not think it necessary, or palatable, to take force and violence to the dumb-asses in this nation, but trust me … they will lead the way to their own destruction. Then, they’ll not only be the ones who are the defensive, but be running for their very lives.

Of course they will push a “Public Option” to create yet another revenue stream which will be PISSED away just as Medicare/MedicAid and Social Security has throughout the years starting with Lyndon Johnson as his “Great Society” plan.

Can the picture be any clearer for people to see? There is absolutely no plan to “take care of anyone” but rather another large pile of money from which more entitlement programs will be promised to buy votes. This is classic “bait and switch”.

The government has been running the greatest Ponzi scheme ever since 1934 (when FDR signed the SSA into law and started this whole socialist bowel movement). Remember the names of those 128 who now want the “Pubic Option” because these are the full-bore Socialists in Congress. It is these trolls who need to be removed from office by any means possible.
