    How in the hell do these Jurassic slap-asses keep getting voted in? At this point, why even bother with the border? Just disband the border guards and be done with it. Does no good to have borders if these jackasses won’t do the job of securing it.

    Good point Chuck O. What’s the point of having a border? What’s the point of waging a war in Afghanistan if the military is cuffed with “rules of war” crap. Why do we spend so much on the military and weapons if we never freakin’ use them?

    The 14th Amendment is abused,I don’t think it means you can sneak over the border and give birth and that makes it a US Citizen,it was written for slaves.

    As fas1776 mentioned, the 14th amendment was written to naturalize former slaves, there is nothing to empower illegal aliens who are not under the jurisdiction of this country to grant citizenship to their babies. Leave it to the America-hating left to twist it to their ends. In his radio show, Mark Levin blows Graham’s twisted logic out of the water.

    You look and sound really stupid, Grahamnesty. Nice try to attempt to appear as if you really care about the American people and the Constitution, but I for one am not buying it. It’s been evident for a while that you are clueless, about anything and especially the Constitution, so how you got to be where you’re at can only be attributed to voters more stupid than you are. Read the 14th amendment again and read the history behind this amendment. Another amendment is not needed because the 14th amendment does not allow for anchor babies to begin with.

    :smile: I don’t really understand those folks who think the 1st paragraph of the 14th Amendment only applies to slaves. It is clear that “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.” This is a serious problem for those persons who are born of illegal aliens. The child (person) born here is a citizen but the parent(s) are not. So deport the parents and what about the child. So educate and care for the child with all the costs but get rid of the parents–maybe get the child foster care. A tough dilemma and something a Constitutional Amendment could fix. It would need to be prospective and carefully worded to avoid those problems of allowing politicians to play with who is and who is not a citizen. Maybe something like “A person born of a person legally in the United States is a Citizen.” Even then you might have to contend with travelers coming here legally but that could be fixed by a Federal statute that states it is a crime to come to the US for the purpose of having a child. In other words those folks would not be here legally. That would be something a little less specific. With the press of resources and the hardship involved with this issue, I commend my Senator for his courage to do something. And he will be my Senator well past 2014. Thanks Lindsey!
    PS Those who do not think this applies to the Mexicans better look at the 2d amendment. That is not anywhere near as specific–it basically includes the right to bear arms as part of a “well regulated” militia. Lots of room for argument on that.
