    Well, I guess there’s more to come cos that wasn’t the end of the conversation.

    Even though Mel portrays himself as a “good” Catholic, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he took his own life.

    What’s being said there is truly horrific and how does one go on when every english speaking person on earth has heard it.

    You know, what I’m about to say is probably going to get me knee deep in dog shit, but here goes anyway.

    There are a couple of things that Mel said during the conversation that tell me a little bit more about his mindset.

    1. Mel stated he left his wife because he and she were on different spiritual planes.

    2. Mel wants his wife, whoever she may be at the time, to show him some respect for the lifestyle he has provided to her.

    3. Mel really, really wants that respect to translate into sex, and a lot of it.

    4. Mel doesn’t want his wife to just want him for said lifestyle, thus his comment about his girlfriend only being interested in him for the advancement of her career, and subsequently ditching him when she figured out his career is over, his connections (friends) are gone, etc.

    Given his desires, and his rapidly disappearing life, due to his advancing age, and due to the societal pressures, I can see why Mel might be upset if he feels things slipping away.

    Does that justify his behavior?

    No.

    But I get it.

    I can see that Mel is feeling it all slipping away and he’s not handling it very well.

    But then getting a 20 something year old girlfriend was a bit all too obvious in the first mistake department.

    He sowed his wild oats a bit too long, and now he’s reaping the rewards of a ridiculous liaison.

    Gee Mel, remember the part that says pride leads to a downfall?

    Well, this is it.

    Ultimately though he lost me when he decided to beat on her.

    Come on Mel, put down the bottle buddy.

    You really need help.

    Mel’s no angel, but let’s get something straight. Some women (and men) know where your buttons are, and if they’re antagonistic, they’ll push them at will. You can tell this little Russian floosy was goading him into his rant by her calm demeanor and scripted verse. Trust me, I’ve dated women like this.

    Who hasn’t lost their cool at some point in a relationship and said things that you didn’t really mean and regretted later? If you haven’t you are a better person then most. I wouldn’t want my rants recorded and published for all to hear. As to the hitting…not cool. If that really happened than he definitely needs some help controlling his anger.
