Conservatives despise him. Many liberals remain stubbornly unimpressed. He gets no credit when he does something right, and faces new, often manufactured controversies seemingly every day. And it’s all adding up, because now, even babies — sweet, lovable, barely sentient babies — have turned on President Obama, the man with whom they once invested so much hope. Though he tries time and again to connect with these impressionable young citizens, it is all in vain, for his overtures are met only with cold shoulders. Tiny, cold shoulders.

    Babies respond to eye contact and gross (meaning large scale, non subtle) facial features. It’s the whole ‘who can make the baby smile/laugh thing (I think it’s the Navajo that do that but I could be wrong).

    Babies are wired to make social contacts by focusing on the face, somethng autistic kids don’t do, for instance.

    It would be very interesting to do a study on the reactions of babies and very young children (less than five years old) and how they react to Obama as opposed to others. I am sure there are plenty of pictures and videos of babies and politicians.

    Babies take cues from their mothers as well. Nervous or frightened mothers will cause their babies to be nervous and frightened (it’s one of the ways we can teach ‘racism’ to our children).

    Seriously, this would be an interesting study. I have heard psychiatrists suggest that Obama may have an undiagnosed mental illness and this might be a way of testing that.
    And don’t laugh about the dogs thing. Dogs can smell the onset of heart attacks and seizures…
    Now, how do I get TARP money to study this?
