The Hill:

Former President George W. Bush will sit down for his first formal post-presidency interview a week after the mid-terms.

NBC announced on Monday that “Today” show anchor Matt Lauer would interview Bush twice in November during the same week the former Republican president’s book, “Decision Points,” is scheduled to be published.

Bush will sit for a primetime special with Lauer to air on Monday, Nov. 8, and wll appear live on the “Today” show on Wednesday, Nov. 10, NBC announced on Monday.

The election will come days after the midterm elections set for Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Congressional Democrats and President Obama have made Bush a target of their election year messaging, warning voters that giving control of Congress to Republicans would mean a return of some of Bush’s policies.

Any leaks from Bush’s memoir could receive heavy attention in the days before the mid-term elections, which Republicans hope will result in their winning the House. Many publishers release advance excerpts of some titles, though high-profile books like Bush’s are often kept under-wraps until the release date.

Republicans, for their part, have kept some distance from the former president, who has himself kept a low profile since leaving office. His most public role to date came when Obama tapped him and former President Bill Clinton to spearhead fundraising for disaster relief in the aftermath of Haiti’s devastating earthquake earlier this year.

I hope he can contain his laughter if asked about the job that the sitting president is doing.

Actually, I hope that President Bush would level both barrels and critique the sitting president accurately, but that won’t happen as President Bush has class.

I can hear him giggling and snickering already.

yeah he did have class…didnt see him on fraking lat night shows 20 times a year or taking trips to india that are gonna cost us taxpayers hundreds of millions(reportedly billions)

  • Ohnooo

Why in the hell would he give any credence to that POS news organization and that friggin lil weasel Matt Lauer?…I’m sure the questioning will be thoroughly scripted for the blame game lefty conspiracy theorists to take the eye of Oboingo and Comrades…I’d rather see him go on with Oberbuttman or Madcow and blast the shit out of this administration and the Congressional Demoncraps before the elections and watch either of those two and the lefties heads explode…now that would be funny..lolol

YAAAAAAY! Good lord, I have missed that man. One thing’s for sure, he won’t be telling Matt Lauer he’s going to be looking for someone’s ass to kick. GWB just kicked ass — he didn’t announce it first.

Me too – I have really missed having a real man in the whitehouse. Read a great book about former Secret Service guys who had presidential duty – they all loved the Bushes.

  • thrasymakhos

My Lord I miss the man.

    • trustme1013

Me too. I hope he’s enjoying being out of the office, as much as he can considering the circumstances.

God Bless George Bush, true guardian of life, liberty and justice.

I would venture to guess there a a number of us in the same trenchs with you guys that don’t miss him one bit. After all… What is the biggest preoccupation with this site now? Imigration. So WTF did he do about it? Nzda, ziltch, zip.

    • trustme1013

I think he might have been a bit preoccupied with kicking terrorist ass and taking names. I don’t know. I could be wrong there.

With all due respect, I don’t believe the people on this site or Pat, himself, have ever been preoccupied with any one topic. Yes, Pat is doing an illegal immigration project of his choice but, in my humble opinion, it is not the focus. This site started with defending the troops carrying out the current war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Over time it has morphed into defending the Constitution, our founders and our troops. Our federal laws are not being enforced when it comes to illegal immigration and that is a violation of the Constitution by definition. Anyone who says the federal governments deriliction of duty towards protecting our borders is not a violation or not a deriliction, has not understand our Constitution or history for that matter which is why this topis happens to be one that is often spoken about.

I tend to believe Georgie is a soft-sell globalist, but I do appreciate his initial response to the 9-11 terrorist attack. It will be interesting to watch the interview.
