Hezollah Weapons Storage Explosion 3/9/10
An explosion on Friday (Sept. 3) proves that Hezbollah has beed storing weapons in violation of UN Resolution 1701
An explosion occurred in a weapons storage facility belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization last Friday (Sept. 2) in southern Lebanon, in the town of Al- Shahabiya west of the city of Tyre and south of the Litani River. According to Lebanese sources, the series of explosions shook the three-story building. A short time later the Lebanese army was called to the scene and blocked all access to the area.
The video clip below, filmed by an IDF drone in southern Lebanon shows the explosion and subsequent rising smoke. The video proves that despite being a civilian building, the place was used for storage of Hezbollah weapons, which in turn proves that the organization violated UN Resolution 1701 which brought the end of the Second Lebanon War and stated the organization was forbidden from storing weapons in the area.
Airborne photos publicized by the IDF last July from the village of Khiam in southern Lebanon show how Hezbollah is preparing for confrontation with Israel by arming itself. In the village of Khiam, a number of locations were found storing weapons and being used as headquarters and control centers for Hezbollah. Similar situations are taking place in many other southern Lebanese villages.
It is now four years since the end of the Second Lebanon War and in the time that has passed Hezbollah has only gotten stronger. Today, the organization has over 40,000 rockets. If a war was to break out now, Hezbollah would be able to shoot 500 to 600 rockets into Israel on a daily basis. Airborne images of the village of Khiam show that these ammunition storage units are often in civilian homes and near schools.
The IAF strike was a response to the attack involving an explosion in the Sdot Negev Regional Council and to violence in the previous week in which two Israelis were injured and four Israeli civilians were shot dead.
