Savannah Now:

SPRINGFIELD — Effingham County sheriff deputies have reported the early Sunday morning arrest of three men to the federal Joint Terrorism Task Force.

The men, two from Russia and one from Kazakhstan, were found near Georgia Power’s Plant McIntosh on Old Augusta Road about 1 a.m. Sunday after a ranger with the Department of Natural Resources reported a suspicious vehicle, Effingham County sheriff’s spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.

Deputies reported the men, who were inside a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder, had a machete, shovel, wire cutters and ski masks. One man also had black silk stockings in his front left pocket.

Arrested were Evgeniy Luzhetskiy, of Kazakhastan Nail Idiatullin and Rustem Ibragimov of Russia. All three reported they lived in Charleston, S.C., deputies reported.

The men were all charged with possession of tools during the commission of a crime.

The three were released after being interviewed by task force members, Ehsanipoor said.

“They did all have visas that allowed them to be here and are supposed to be leaving the country soon.”

Whoa…. I’m interested to hear more news on this. Not surprised Russians are involved, after all, they do, admittedly, have their hands in helping Iran reach it’s full nuclear potential.

I don’t see any legitimate reason they should be around that facility at THAT specified time frame while in possession of WHAT they have. They’re permitted foreign nationals to boot. So that’s 3 reasonable factors to be questioned, especially considering our national security status.

last names are kinda…chechen-ish, or maybe dagestani. and looking at this kazakhstan national, he might be a muslim as well.

Well, it’s about time. I’ve been watching Hollywood movies and television for 15 years and was wondering when the Eastern European/Russian terrorists would show up in real life.

And now Obama is going to push the START Treaty so they will have keys to gate so they can plant their daisys….

Osama bin Laden stated a few years ago they were recruiting white/Caucasian-looking individuals to conduct terror attacks against the US. My guess is they’re recruitment effort was fruitful. And why in the hell did they let these people go? They will dissolve into smoke and never be seen again …

No-one is more cagey than the Russians ..

Great! Wow! Not only do we have to worry about the Muzzies, the Mexicans, the Black Panthers, the radical homos, the rabid environmentalists, and local ganstas, now we gotta go back to fighting the Ruskies too? Man, I aint never gonna get no sleep!

Approximately a year ago, Pat had article with big Green Map that showed that most of the more-radical Islamic communities were ALL very close to Nuke, hydro-electric dams, water works sites,etc…..and lots of their “training camps” were near Power Grid locations.

Is this Obama’s October surprise, and for his development of Urban-Communication Warefare bunch to prepare for us to go to FEMA camps because Dems will lose election this year if held.

I remember seeing that map. Geez…. It’s been that long. Time is flying!
