Ex-Agent: I Almost Shot LBJ Hours After JFK Assassination

NEW YORK — A former Secret Service agent says in his new book that he nearly shot President Lyndon B. Johnson hours after John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

In “The Kennedy Detail,” Gerald Blaine recalls standing guard outside the Washington home of newly sworn-in President Johnson in the early hours of Nov. 23, 1963.

Blaine heard footsteps approaching. He picked up his submachine gun and, in the darkness, pointed it at the chest of a man who turned out to be Johnson.

Blaine writes that the enormity of what had almost happened left him chilled. He realized that, 14 hours after losing one president, the nation had almost lost another one by his hand.

He says his book is the first account of the assassination by a member of Kennedy’s security detail.

if he had, then he would have killed the mastermind behind it all……
it was a coup by Johnson, nothing else. and he used his dallas/chicago/NO/Miami mob connects. Johnson was a white obama.

I have always thought LBJ had a hand in the death of Kennedy. What a differnt America we would be living in now if that shot had been fired.

I hate to say this, but only if he had! We would be much better off! Not counting the escalation of our involvement in Vietnam, Johnson was also responsible for:
Medicare
Medicaid
Foodstamps
escalating the welfare state
“War on Poverty”

If Agent Blaine’s trigger finger had twitched, we would have had President John William McCormack, Democrat from Massachusetts. (Speaker of the House at the time) He was less of a socialist, egomaniac than JFK or LBJ, but he probably would have caved to the shadow left and put us about where we are now. But since Johnson and his crowd were unmitigated disasters, I would have voted for the finger twitch.

With as much as Johnson lived as ‘King LBJ’ in Southwest Texas, I really think he believed he could crown himself after 1964, like Muzzie Soetoro is doing despite the citizens and the Constitution.

From the books I have read, I learned that he was constantly busy with the chicas while Lady Bird was in the next room. If he wanted to be crowned King he needed to take the position seriously and have sharper tools in his shed.
