Arizona Senate Debate

NASHUA, N.H. (AP) — If John McCain hadn’t made it clear before, he’s leaving no doubt that the presidency is a dream gone by.

Addressing a veterans rally for a Republican Senate candidate in Nashua on Saturday, the Arizona senator was reminiscing about his presidential campaigns in New Hampshire, where he won the Republican primaries in 2000 and 2008.

He told the audience of 200 that “this may surprise you, but I will not be running for president again.” He promised, though, that he will do everything in his power to make sure New Hampshire
maintains its first-in-the-nation presidential primary status.

The Republican will be 76 in 2012, the next presidential election.

It was McCain’s second trip to the state to campaign for Kelly Ayotte.

Whew, that’s a relief. Don’t know if the GOP is stupid enough to nominate him again, but I wouldn’t put it past them.

But just who does the GOP nominate?

  • Righteous Anger

Well for starters, Phil, let the GOP select a candidate that is a true conservative both in action and deed. Let this candidate be one who has to be shown where it is he or she is going to work. Not one who has spent so much time in DC that they have lost that sense of ‘the People’. Let this candidate be knowledgeable in government but not bound by some ideology of political correctness or bound by some overall concept that all will achieve greatness by the sacrifice of real Americans the few that remain. Let them be aware that if you don’t work you don’t eat, and if you don’t contribute then you don’t partake. Fiscally sound policies and the understanding of less government is best government and the wisdom to know when to yield to the Constitution as it is written. To realize that the government is broken, and to save the patient all of the bloat needs to be removed. If this means austere living then let it be. Protect the people by defending the Nation, safeguard our borders by securing them, and return to ‘not spending that which you don’t have’. and finally one who recognizes the time to leave when he/she has completed the job. That Phil is who the GOP needs to endorse, and if they don’t then it is time to find a third party to endorse for the democrats have fucked this country up royally dragging along with it, their share of weak kneed democrats who watched as the liberal left trashed this Nation. What we don’t need is a RINO.
