Sounds shady – none of the supposed reasons to go with cloud computing are legit – you still need upgrades, you still need tech support, you still need diagnostics.

What it really sounds like is yet another front in an attempt to centralize information in order to take away peoples’ independence; cloud computing removes all privacy and personal control – shut down a a single bank of systems, and you create chaos. true that…but i think in a business environment, it would be cheaper, having a main server to service smaller, cheaper PC and Laptops. plus, all corporations have a strict internet and PC usage policy, and in near future it will be them jumping on the bandwagon.
agree on the “personal” part of the PC, it needs to stay that way, its my computer, ill do whatever i want on it without asking anybodys permission to access to one or another software. best way to comparit owuld be the facebook add-on games and other services. although, if the government will pick up on this subject, get ready for governmet approved devices, with all the strings attached.
