Study: Legalizing Pot In Cali Won’t Hinder Mexican Cartels

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (AP) – A new study says Mexico’s drug traffickers aren’t likely to lose much profit if California legalizes marijuana, because residents of America’s largest pot-consuming state prefer to grow their own.

The study by the nonpartisan RAND Drug Policy Research Center says that means the legalization proposal on the California’s November ballot also will do little to quell drug gangs’ violence.

Californians make up one-seventh of the U.S. marijuana market. The study released Tuesday found they’re already farming pot at a much higher rate than neighboring states and tend to buy locally.

Officials on both sides of the border agree vast profits cartels collect in the U.S. fuel drug wars to the south.

But RAND found only about 3 percent of Mexican marijuana sales are in California.

The State of California will be known as “The Stoner State”…….smoke’em if ya got’em……Illegals are even legal there……maybe that means that if you’re in the state and country legally, you don’t belong….everything’s turning upside down and the tails waggin’ the dog, I fear.

Even if they didn’t grow their own, it wouldn’t matter – pot accounts for a minuscule fraction of the cartels’ profits. If anything, we would be doing them a favor, because they would convert their entire manufacturing and transportation efforts over to harder drugs that turn over significantly higher profits.

The beginning of the end of California. I guess our state flower will be replace with a weed leaf and the poor quail will have a dope stone looked to it! Ga damn my stupid state is sooo fracked up!

A kilo of coke,or meth, and a kilo of mexican shitweed are pretty much the same size.
Yet the profit margin is uncomparable.
    The cartels arent going anywhere.
Our govt wont take any action until they topple the govt in mexico.
And then it would just be another opportunity for ovomit to bow down again

California should be it’s own country
