Hensarling is the better person for the position, BUT Bachmann does have a rather large surplus leftover in her campaign warchest. This means that she can win influence by doling some of this out to other Pubs left with little funds remaining in theirs, particularly some of the incoming freshmen.
Now with all that said. Texas does send a fair amount of congressman to DC and will be gaining seats in 2012 to send more and the sweep went deep there into local governments sweeping Dem controled counties into all GOP elected officials like in Galveston County which is a heavy union area due Texas City and all its refining/petrochemical union (except for Valero which has a non-union plant there)
