One person was killed and two were wounded in a car-to-car shooting on the northbound Interstate 5 in Norwalk, in suburban Los Angeles, authorities said Thursday.

The three victims were shot about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday near Carmenita Road. They were taken to a hospital, where one died Wednesday, said Sgt. Ralph Gama of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The other two victims remained in stable condition Thursday, Gama said.

The shooting was under investigation and investigators had no suspects or vehicle information, Gama said.

[Updated at 9:05 a.m.: There have been at least two other car-to-car shootings in the L.A. area in the past week, including that of Marisol Aguayo, 22, who was shot and killed last Friday while driving west on the 91 Freeway near the Wilmington Avenue exit in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

In the other case, a 27-year-old man was shot Monday near the Western Avenue exit of Interstate 5 in Burbank during an apparent road-rage incident. He was expected to recover from his injuries, officials said.

That incident began with an altercation between the victim and the suspect on the northbound freeway, officials said. The two drivers exited the freeway at Alameda Avenue, stopped and got out of their cars near Ash Avenue and Varney Street, where they continued to argue.

The suspect, who was driving a van, pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at the victim, who was driving a Mercedes sedan. The victim was struck once, and his car was hit multiple times, cracking the windshield and rear window.

The victim then got back into his Mercedes and drove several blocks to the intersection of Lake Street and Providencia Avenue, where he flagged down a passing motorist to ask for help. The driver of the van fled. There was no indication the drivers knew each another, authorities said.]
