    YES!

Elderly drivers should be re-tested every five years after 65.

First lesson: MAINTAIN THE FREAKING SPEED LIMIT

yes yes yes yes ..aaaand yes …my friend has to carry a sin on his soul cause a 80 y.o. grandma (rest her soul) decided to stop at 90 degrees to the freeway (she was pulling away from an unsuccessfull 3 way turn…wtf???) she stoped in the middle of the road instead of using a shoulder for the turn, witch was illegal anyhow. again, wtf, why my friend traveling at regulated speed of 55mph coming around corner had to risk his life, and of his passengers becauses of an elderly person who decided to take her time at an ILLEGAL turn on a freeway (god rest her soul) and what about seeng only hands on the wheel of a big ass cadilac or buick instead of a driver. senior citizens – get a hired driver!!! especially when your family members refuse to offer u transportation. give me a break. they got enough pension funds to pay for it. if not- sell the g.d. car!!!

Gramps GRIZZ got relieved of his keys at 85.

If he just would have worn some pants…….

Yes. I feel for losing the independence, but some should not be driving, or even riding as passenger for that matter!

Not only should elder drivers be tested, they should also take personal responsibility for their driving. We just got rear ended today by a man of around 80 who looked to be in very poor health and quite out of it. I wondered why the police did not test his blood alcohol. If he had been younger, they surely would have done that. Around here it is very common for elderly men to drive after drinking.
We had my daughter and grandson in the car, thankfully all belted in and the little guy in his car seat.
Elderly people should not get a pass on driving because they “don’t want to give up their freedom.” They have no right to endanger others when they are not competent to drive.
