Sinaloa Cartel Offers To Find Murdered Mother’s Killer

Two narco banners were found this morning. They had been signed by the Sinaloa cartel, expressing solidarity with the citizens against the murder of Marisela Escobedo and goes on to ask the people to denounce the killers to the cartel. The murder was captured on CCTV as the activist was protesting against the release of a man who killed her daughter, Rubí Marisol after serving only two years in prison.
The banners were hung from a bridge which is the overpass between Army National ave. and Technology ave. Another was hung near an IMSS hospital, located on the corner of Henry Dunant and López Mateos streets.
The message asks the citizens to leave any information about the killers and their whereabouts on a web page called “quitapuercos” (pig exterminator), presumably corresponds to a Youtube account which has one suspended video.
Local lawyer, Salvador Urbina Quiroz, indicated it was “absurd”, to suggest the cartel was here to help, the way they deal with their enemies would be a prime example of the hypocrisy.
“The offer is just way out of line and equally so if the authorities accept it. Now we must walk carefully when the margin of law becomes thin”, he said.
Federico Ziga Martínez, representative of the civic group Todos Somos Juárez, said these type of offers should be viewed with caution and skepticism.
“It would be a dangerous thing if these banners began to gain the people’s confidence”, she said.
Manuel Sotelo Suárez, vice president of the transportation department (Canacar), said: “as citizens we must pressure the authorities for justice.”
Marisela Escobedo was murdered this past Thursday in ciudad de Chihuahua, while she was protesting in front of the State Governor’s Palace over the case of her daughter’s death.
