Tidbit for NY tourists/sightseers interested in important contemporary figures as well as for architecture buffs. If you are either, you might want to put this residence on your sightseeing schedule, I hear it’s quite beautiful:

    Sooo hilarious! :) What part of the good ol’ U.S.A. are you from? Me, I’m from the hills of eastern Kentucky… COAL COUNTRY (for now, anyway)! And I had to use quite a few outhouses growing up. If you were lucky, you had toilet paper instead of a catalog! And if you were REAL lucky, you had electricity run to the outhouse with one of those bare light bulbs hanging down and a string attached to turn it off and on. The fancy ones had ‘double-holes.’ Some even had toilet seats attached to sit on–that was a rare thing! We never had one of those. The only ‘doubles’ we had was when two outhouses were attached to each other, back-to-back. Having conversations through the outhouse wall can be entertaining! ;) LOL

    And if anyone thinks I’m making these things up, you are terribly WRONG! My family didn’t have an inside bathroom until I was 9 years old, probably around 1971. I tell my grandchildren these stories, and they think my husband and I lived back in the pioneer days!

    One of the few good things in NY state is one kick-ass barbecue joint called Dinosaur Barbecue, with restaurants in Syracuse, Rochester, Harlem and Troy…. even my good friends down south would agree- they are excellent…Saddest thing happened today: I learned that Soros is one of the prinicpal owners of Dinosaur Barbecue http://blog.timesunion.com/business/dinosaur-bar-b-que-and-george-soros/20834/….. I wanted to go frequently, but not any more as long as this clown rakes in the profits.

    What is the point of this inquest? The man has a right to exist just as much as the Koch brothers do. One is extreme liberal, the others are extreme libertarian. They are two sides of a coin, rather like a Janus face.

    Don’t you find it a bit disturbing that a person is damned because of their political affiliation? Unfortunately liberals have just as much of a right to exist as conservatives. If this were Sarah Palin’s property people would be furious.

    I’m tired of being told that George Soros must be hated. Instead, maybe you ought to try praying for his soul. The man is an atheist. That is tragic. Funny thing, but when you start praying for a person, you stop hating them.

    CAVEAT: I actively oppose George Soros and just about ever one of his political views.

    I hate to say it, but publishing his address is a very bad idea. Some idiot will do something and turn him into a martyr or a cause for the Left. Sure, the Left will gladly invade another person’s home, but that’s typically not our way.

    Funny thing is that George Soros, who officially resides in New York, is very active in funding political causes in California. He spent over $1 million on Prop. 19 and was part of the well-connected, out-of-state billionaires group that funded Proposition 27.
