Double Standards From The Florida GOP?

In this Nation we do not have the right to NOT be offended. It is as simple as that. For years the politically correct incrementalism of not offending anyone has eaten away one right after another. And the Conservatives and GOP have in recent years taken a hard stand that political correctness and over sensitivity to being offended are hurting this nation and the basic freedoms we hold so dearly here.

I hate to break this to everyone but words, although they can be offensive, cannot hurt you and only have power if you give them power. Yes certain terms and words should not be used. We do live in a supposedly civilized society. But when discussing the human body and parts of the body are referred to in their proper terms we really can’t cry foul and “I’m Offend” because the medical term is not as endearing as another term may be for your side of a debate.

Recently in Florida the State GOP took great offense at the word “Uterus” being used in a discussion on reproductive rights.

Rep. Scott Randolph was trying to make a point about abortion last week when he used the word “uterus” on the floor of the State House.
It’s a pretty common word when talking about reproductive rights — one that probably wouldn’t even make your average middle-schooler giggle.
And yet it set off a firestorm in Tallahassee.
House Republicans sent word to Randolph, a Democrat from Orlando, that he should no longer say the word without first warning those who might be offended.
“Actually, they said I was no longer allowed to say any body parts,” Randolph said.

My question is WHY? Why is a word that is being properly used offensive? Rep. Randolph didn’t use terms like “baby box”, “baby oven”,“poon” or others that are way more offensive to me and others.. he used the medically correct term “uterus”.

The GOP has been taking a stand for less government regulation in our lives for the past few years but yet these groups of GOP members want to regulate the use of a proper medical term? Because they don’t think it sounds as warm and fuzzy as the term “womb”? You can’t have it both ways. We either have freedom and or we don’t. Either we are not going to bow to political correctness or we are? So Florida GOP what is it? Are you going to use the liberal cry of “it offends me” to shut someone up or are you going to allow Freedom and deal with your own “tender sensibilities”?

If we are going to fix this nation we need to be honest and stop these kinds of politically correct games folks…

Sounds like the Florida House Republicans need to stop drinking PC koolaid – this is the kind of behavior I would expect from the wacky left, now these so-called repubs are acting just like them

Exactly my Point Lock.. We can’t allow the “Do as I say not as I do” types to pretend to be conservative when they are just as liberal as the left in different packaging

It is all a quest to see who can be the most “Sensitive” and “Tolerant” so that they might be accepted by the “Upper crust of Societal Establishment.” The quest to be “Part” to be “Liked” and “Respected” by the pundits of the media/political world…in an effort to retain their positions of power at all costs.

We do not need politicians any longer…we need Statesmen and women who without fear of isolation and without fear of reprisal, stand with backbones like saw logs and say and do what needs to be done to rescue our nation and restore our credibility in the world.

Amen, Dr. Jerry :!:
