Rand Paul: Slash The Military’s Budget – With Video

April 18th, 2011 (7) Posted By Pat Dollard.

Politico:

Pentagon spending must be on the chopping block in order to reach a bipartisan deal to rein in the national debt, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said Sunday.

Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Paul rejected calls by Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) and other conservatives to keep tax increases on the table. But the freshman senator, a tea party favorite who has repeatedly said he won’t compromise on his principles, said that conservatives need to budge on military spending.

“There is a compromise, but the compromise is not to raise taxes,” Paul said. “The compromise is for conservatives to admit that the military budget is going to have to be cut.”

Sell out. Why don’t you cut the fucking slaughter house of PP?

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Axel – look at Rand’s plan. He is against fed funding for PP. You are judging him from a short vid clip. Rand and Ryan are leading the way on reducing our budget deficits in sensible ways.

$500 Billion dollars means cuts will have to be spread across the board. That’s what Rand is calling for.

Hey Rand- I can think of something else to slash.

    “Compromise”….

Spoken like the quintessential politician!

Sorry guys but Rand is right. There is waste and fraud in defense spending and welfare programs which can be cut. A smart way to sell it is as a “compromise”.

Rand is a solid common sense Libertarian/Conservative and has a plan to cut at least $500 billion dollars from our budget. He is different from Ron Paul who wants to gut our military spending.

We can’t keep spending at this rate. We’ve been warned time and time again. We ignore the warnings at our peril.

My problem with both Ron Paul and Rand Paul is that on military matters, national security and foreign policy, they are as bad as Democrats. Cutting military spending more than it already is, is a very bad idea. The world is going to bite hard in the years ahead, in part because of the weakness of one Barack Obama as President. Rand Paul’s latest comment in favor of cutting military spending only shows that he does not have a clue as to what the country needs in terms of defense. Sure, the budget needs to be cut, BUT not by cutting military spending.
