Fox 35:

4/19/11 – 10:45 – Sources tell Florida News Center that WOFL reporter Patrick Pegues became the news early Tuesday morning, while covering the shooting of an internet cafe robbery suspect in Orlando.

Sources say that Pegues was about to do a stand-up live shot from in front of the internet cafe, which happen to be housed in a privately owned strip mall. A security guard for the strip mall asked Pegues and his crew (along with other local stations) to leave the strip mall. Pegues continued with his live shot, when the security guard interrupted and asked them to leave again. When Pegues and the guard began to argue, a Seminole County Sheriff officer grabbed Pegues from behind. Not knowing who was grabbing him, Pegues flipped the officer over his shoulder and onto the ground. Other officers ran over and forced Pegues to the ground.

So far no there’s no word if anyone was injured or if any charges have been filed against Pegues.
