Whitman sounds like he may have been an outstanding foundational model for todays gub’ment employee. Show up when he wanted, leave when he wanted, accomplish very little and most importantly, he probably wrote some of his horrible “poetry” on the gub’ment nickle. Another “American hero/icon” who wouldn’t be able to get a job anywhere in today’s society.
