It seems to me that if the teacher lost control of the classroom to the point were she is being physically intimidated, then she needs to go get security and or find a new career.
But I really don’t know, the school might be one of the horror show shit-holes we hear about.
The Dems at the Department of Education must be so proud of themselves.

She acted in self defense according to prosecutors and many of the students that were interviewed by the police.
One thing I have noticed is that the parents haven’t said anything about this in public that I know of. I assume they, like most others that have seen this, think their kid was over the line and that the teacher DID act in self defense. If they didn’t think that, I’m sure there would already have been lawsuits flying around.
Speaking strictly for myself, if this had been my child acting like that towards the ANY teacher, much less a female 6-8 inches shorter than him, he wouldn’t be able to sit down for a week. When he went back to school, he would have to apologize to the teacher and the classroom with me standing there next to him.
No one should lose their job for defending themselves.
