East Tn asked to stay in the union and long before Lincoln had called up troops or even taken measures to defend DC from being surrounded, the Confederacy brought in militia from Ga and Alabama, to sit on East Tn famlies, burned farms, shot civilians all Because East Tn wanted to remain under the Constitution of their fathers, It was okay from them to succeed from the union to keep human bondage alive, but Knoxville, Cleveland, Chattanooga didn’t have a right to leave West Tn plantation owners after it fixed a second vote to get the results in wanted…..you are confused about Lincoln and the leanings of your area. Lincoln was trying to save the Constitution the Confederacy wished to replace it, with one that would keep slavery forever and no one had any right under it to ever overturn that even if their citizens decided they did not want it……it was pure tyranny.
