UPDATE, 15:16 PST: Fox News’s Tripoli correspondent is on the air live from Tripoli reporting that Moammar Kaddafi is currently live on Libyan state television, broadcasting from an undisclosed location, and telling the entire country to rise up, run to Tripoli, and liberate it from the rebels….developing

Fox News and several other sources are stating that their is credible but unconfirmed information that Moammaer Kaddafi has successfully fled to Algeria….developing…

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) — Euphoric Libyan rebels moved into the capital Tripoli on Sunday and moved close to center with little resistance as Moammar Gadhafi’s defenders melted away. The opposition’s leaders said Gadhafi’s son and one-time heir apparent, Seif al-Islam, has been arrested.

Associated Press reporters with the rebels said they met little resistance as they moved from the western outskirts into the capital in a dramatic turning of the tides in the 6-month-old Libyan civil war.

“They will enter Green Square tonight, God willing,” said Mohammed al-Zawi, a 30-year-old rebel in the force that was moving in. Green Square has been the site of night rallies by Gadhafi supporters throughout the uprising.
Gadhafi’s regime appeared to be rapidly crumbling.

    This is by noway over, did anyone else notice there was no incoming fire in any of the “live” reports today.  I told my wife early on that you watch He’s not there, his hardcore military and none of it’s equipment is there, and there will be no scud missiles found there. Tripoli will be basically empty when they take it.  Which now leaves all of the rebel forces gathered up in one nice neat scud missile  testing target. He even said that Tripoli is now like Baghdad. Meaning he’s going to call it a lose and wipe off the map.

      except that he will kill his sons then, Idoubt that that will happen, Gadhafi cares too much for his image among the arab world, and for their history books, he wants to appear as a hero of restistance to the western imperialists !

      Actually he’s already lost one son. The big picture is he’s about to loose his regime and that’s what really matters to him. The fact that both he, his elite military, and all of his most devastating weapons are nowhere to be found say’s a lot. When push comes to shove he’ll whip them out and use them. He has nothing to loose if he does this time.

      his military elite has already given up the arms

      French, English forces(and Marines) were advizing the Rebels, at the moment, Gadhafi’s compoud is protected by such special forces, while still recalcitrant loyals are still fighting around

      thing is that Gadhafi ha built numerous underground bunker/hangars for vehicles in the last 40 years. it could be that he might hit the rebels in the back and cut off their supply line into Tripoli. or his military just decided to take off their uniforms like Saddams republican guard and form an insurgency to kill off the emerging opposition leadership one by one. or…they swithced sides seeng that there is no way that Moamars family will rule again, and decided to stick with opposition in order to get pardoned for all the deaths they’ve caused.

      you forget that french’s, Brits’ and Marines’ special forces are on the ground too,  that all his compounds were destroyed, lately,  that the Rebels hold 90% of Tripoli, Gaddhafi’s family, is under international arrest mendate, two of his counting sons are already in custody, though, sure that Gadhafi is still dangerous, he is a manipulative personality, but I don’t think that the libyan population will revert for him now, even his foreign “allies have switched for the Rebels council, the last one being Algeria.
